Warning: AI Slop
This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
MEMESTEINE FILES is a "template" flip/kitbash, and not a properly developed game. The "developer", Atomic Fabrik/Gamesforgames filled out a basic template in the craptastic Ren'Py (a blight on gaming) for the match-2 "Memory" minigame template (intended to be added to Visual Novels but Atomic Fabrik decided to make a standalone "game" from that minigame), reskinned it with lazy, disgusting AI slop, and put it on Steam as if it was their own game.
Gamesforgames have shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab, through this account or through closely linked/alt accounts. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:
- "Zombodesert" = Macho Dash developed by TAPP Games (as Cristian Manolachi)
- "Coins Collector " = Super Toy Cars developed by BoneCracker Games (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Hoples" = Pixel Adventure 1 developed by Pixel Frog (as Piece of Voxel)
- "Cake Shop Simulator" = Cake Shop Bakery Chef Story Game developed by KetchAp (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "DuelVox Max Quality" = Western Desert Town developed by KK Design (as Piece of Voxel)
- "Kings and Pigs Prequel" = Kings and Pigs developed by Pixel Frog (as Piece Of Voxel)
- "Mars Colonization" = Space-Y Mars Colonization developed by Julia Cornwell (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Top Truck Driver" = Hill Racing Template developed by Janko Knez (as Piece of Voxel)
- "Desert Special Forces" = Frontline Army Commando War developed by Deeko Games
- "Matchmania Donate" = Match 3 GameMaker Template developed by YoyoGames
- "Save The Girl" = Save The Girl developed by Unity Source Code (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Zombie Drift" = Endless Car Chase Game Template developed by Puppeteer (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "The Pizza Courier" = Pizza Delivery Van Driver Game developed by Zoobs Man (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Waves Running Simulator" = Tsunami Escape developed by Game Polygon (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Wild Animals Transporter" = Wild Animal Transporter Truck Game 2021 developed by Zoobs Man
- "Extreme Truck Stunts" = Real Heavy Trailer Impossible Track Drive 64 Bit Source Code developed by Sim Studio (as Atomic Fabrik)
- "Diamonds Collector" = City Car Driver Street Racing Game developed by The Armor Gaming
Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard.
There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision.
As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting.
These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game.
The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 130 million gamers on Steam and well over 140,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected.
Warning: Review Manipulation!
This game features a number of fake positive reviews from accounts known to be in the business of review manipulation/paid reviews. They're all written in either Russian, broken English or ChatGPT AI slop, appear at almost exactly the same time, very shortly after the game launched on Steam, all have a direct Steam purchase of the game, and the accounts are used consistently to write fake reviews for asset flips and other cash grabs/scams. The "Positive" review score on this game should be disregarded due to this blatant, unethical review manipulation. This is done to deceive and scam gamers into paying for a bad product.
Due to the 2024 FTC ruling (16 CFR § 465.4, 15 U.S.C. § 45), these fake reviews are a violation of US Federal Law.
Next is pricing and value. Is this game worth buying from among the 140,000+ games on Steam?
MEMESTEINE FILES is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it.
Ethics aside, given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend.
The use of AI slop is a direct insult to gamers and real, ethical content creators and artists everywhere. AI models are trained on copyrighted intellectual property without permission from the owners.
