Entropy Archive tasks you with managing a deteriorating computational system through cycles of energy generation, exploration, and strategic resets. Each prestige run deepens your understanding of hidden mechanics while you recover data fragments and push further into corrupted archives, though the progression system's scaling and UI clarity remain works in progress.
About this game
Uncover a collapsing machine of endless growth, hidden systems, and recursive resets. Generate energy, unlock expansions, recover corrupted records, and descend deeper into the Archive.

After several prestiges metaprogression tanked. I would expect to get the same amount of rewards if I prestige at the same point as in the previous runs. But the returns go down while the costs for upgrades go up. One of the problems is, that the energy producer rolls, it has affixes. So in one run you may be blessed because it consumes very little timer while producing a lot of energy and the next one it is the exect opposite.
In earlier runs I would get 10+ metacurrency when at 1.5k energy but after a few resets I get 4 at 15K-ish. I did everything I can from my experience to build a foundation to generate progress but I was ultimately punished for it.
In the end mechanics are way too obscure to the point to leave me puzzled. It is like someone has to explain to me why a joke is funny - This game needs the dev to explain to you how it this game works so it becomes enjoyable because the ingame hints did not make it obvious what I did wrong. Maybe you are someone who understands the obscure intend so you get it right away, for everyone else I advice to skip it.
Free so yes. But, I don't really get it. One reset I got prestige currency then I never got it again after like 5 more resets, and I couldnt work out how to spend the currency I had, I had enough for an upgrade but it wouldnt buy it when I clicked on it.
Also you cant resize the window, I aint playing this wasting my entire monitor.
Like 5/10, if you can work out how to play this game maybe it gets better lol
SUGGESTED ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE: v1.1 — The Stabilization Update =============================================================================== v1.1 — THE STABILIZATION UPDATE Operators — thank you for all the reports, reviews, and forum threads. You told us the early game felt too punishing, that Stability collapsed before a run could breathe, and that some systems didn't behave the way they said they did. This update is our answer. BALANCE & EARLY GAME - Stability now drains roughly 5x slower. Runs last much longer, and the early game no longer spirals into instant collapse. - New protocol: Stability Restore. Spend Energy each second to restore Stability and keep your run alive — usable right from your first cycle. - Collapsing always rewards Entropy now. No more "crash with nothing to show for it," and you'll see a live preview of exactly how much Entropy a collapse will grant before you commit. - Fixed Temporal Anchor draining your Energy at high levels — it could previously zero out or even reverse your production. - Active play pays off again. The Observer's manual-gain bonus now actually applies, and its burnout penalty no longer secretly starves your idle income. - The "Stable" collapse path now grants its promised Stability carry-over. NEW FEATURES - Windowed & fullscreen modes + a resolution selector, right in Settings. (Thanks for your patience on this one.) - Offline progression. Your systems keep producing Energy while you're away — up to 8 hours. BUG FIXES - Critical: Fixed a bug where starting a Challenge and then closing/reloading the game could permanently erase your purchased Entropy upgrades. Your progression is now safe across saves. - Fixed maximum Stability drifting up or down every time you reloaded. - Fixed inconsistent game speed when using Tick Speed / time-dilation effects — game speed is now stable and predictable. - Protocol output shown as "/s" now matches the Energy you actually receive under Entropy Pressure. - Several systems that disp...
v1.0.1 — Hotfix Thanks for the launch-week feedback! Quick patch to fix the most-reported issues: Fixes Starting Energy (and 6 other repeatable upgrades) weren't scaling past their first level. Level 2+ now grants the full per-level bonus as the description promises. "Reset" button now properly wipes ALL game state. Previously it deleted the save file but kept the in-memory state, so some unlocks and values persisted. Your Settings (language, FPS cap, music volume, etc.) are still preserved across a Reset. "Leave a Review" button inside the in-game popup now opens Entropy Archive's correct Steam page. Previously it could navigate to an unrelated app. Lore Archive section headers and locked-entry placeholders now update immediately when you change language (no need to switch tabs). Polish Added hover tooltips explaining Coherence and the SIG / FLX / CNT diagnostic readouts on the Core screen. Entropy upgrade entries no longer get visually "stuck" highlighted after a purchase. Recovered Systems screen layout cleaned up — sector list, descriptions, and mode selectors all render correctly now. In-game review popup is bigger with a proper full-edge border and clear button spacing. Filled translation gaps in Russian / German / French / Spanish across Recovered Systems and the Lore archive.
