Cyber Citizen blends procedural storytelling with idle mechanics, letting you guide a character through a cyberpunk life via occasional choices while automation handles the grind. When your run ends, you pass accumulated upgrades to your heir, creating a long-term progression loop across multiple generations. It appeals to players who enjoy watching systems unfold with minimal input while appreciating narrative branching and the risk-reward tension of life-sim decisions.

I received this game for free, I would not have played it if I didn't want to provide my honest feedback.

First of all - I am recommending this game because of the concept as an idler and the gameplay itself. I would like to start by saying the artwork in this game is very obviously AI generated and a major improvement would be commissioning the art or creating it yourself. I would not have purchased this game because of the AI artwork inclusion alone.

I wish these features were added: a way to speed up the decision/D20 roll time, an idler toggle to stop it from changing your focus automatically when you've changed it to something else, and maybe more defined ways to get to certain aspects in a story. I spent 3.5 hours with no idea how to get a vehicle, as an example. Also for some reason after randomizing a handful of characters, I almost always end up as a Criminal or in Jail with the idle progression.

That being said, I love a "create your own adventure" RPG game. I'm a big fan of Cyberpunk as a genre. And also, the inclusion of "idler" progression is a BIG plus for people that like the option of playing a game while they are actively working on another task. The option to select a Focus and an action response and continue with what you're doing is very nice. I was just very sad to see the AI generated artwork, and I saw "Pixel Graphics" as a filter but it's not apparent here. Pixel Graphics is a style that is very rewarding when mastered and I hate seeing it simulated by AI.

Big Content And Editor Update

The Editor is open to everyone The content Editor now unlocks with the The Next Generation achievement — just start a legacy character — instead of requiring every achievement in the game. Fixed a crash when saving in the Editor. Your creations now save properly and load back in ahead of the built-in content. Use your own images. Drop pictures into the game's photos folder and they show up in the Editor for friends, custom vehicles and custom droids. There's an Open Photos Folder button to find it, and Rescan Photos to pick up new ones without closing the Editor. PNG, JPG, JPEG and WEBP all work. Custom vehicles and droids now use your image in the actual game — in the gear screen, the support slot, and out in the world — not just in the Editor preview. We have nearly doubled the storylines, including a three-part run at the city's mayor — humiliate him, rob him, or break into his house — plus starting your own droid repair business, running a chop-shop ring, and leaving the city for good. 60 new pieces of equipment across every slot. Five new items in every slot — weapons, melee, eyes, ears, chest, legs, brain, head, hands, footwear, arms and droids. Since quality is rolled separately, each one can turn up anywhere from Consumer to Prototype, so there's a lot more variety in what you find and what the shops stock. Equipment tooltips Hovering an equipped item now tells you what it's actually doing for you — the stat it raises, what the slot does, contraband warnings — instead of just "Shop for this slot". Empty slots still show the shop hint.

Major Art Revamp & Community Improvements

This update brings a major visual overhaul along with several improvements inspired by player feedback and community suggestions. Complete Art Overhaul All artwork in the game has been revamped. Characters, environments, UI, and other visuals now follow a much more consistent pixel-art style. I also want to apologize for accidentally leaving some placeholder artwork in the released version. This was never intended to be the final presentation of the game, and I've now gone through the game and replaced it with the new artwork. Gameplay Improvements Added the ability to speed up D20 rolls and decision sequences. Added an Idle Focus Lock to prevent your focus from automatically changing while you're away. Improved story progression and discovery, making certain features and paths easier to find. Added clearer wording about shopping for items in the equipment menu. Improved idle progression and character randomization to reduce repetitive outcomes such as frequently ending up as a Criminal or in Jail. Balance changes and added more content Side-quests now better indicate if its an illegal activity or good activity. Added more events overall Thank You for the Feedback A big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave reviews, suggestions, and feedback. Your feedback has helped shape this update, and there's still plenty more to improve. If you've played before, give the game another try and let me know what you think!
