Neverrest v0.2.17 — Steam Playtest update This update adds 12 talents with dedicated icons, gives combat effects room to breathe, and brings new illustrated loading screens. The Steam Playtest update is uploaded and verified, with public activation pending. Co-op / Extraction Mode and mining remain unavailable in the public build. 12 new talents Basics: Momentum and Killer Instinct. Hunter: Tracker’s Patience and Keen Pursuit. Knight: Steady Advance and Iron Standard. Assassin: Twin Edge and Veiled Edge. Wizard: Ascendant Focus and Ward Discipline. Priest: Sanctified Ward and Radiant Providence. Each new talent has its own icon. Arcane Reservoir now retains its bank between fights. Combat you can read Volley arrows descend from above, face their travel direction, and arrive in staggered lanes with a sharper impact finish. Skill effects stay readable for longer, with broken or empty animation poses removed from playback. Power Strike reads as a steel slash; Priest Aegis retains its blue-and-brass colors; poison keeps its green-and-plum palette. Repeated passive and enchant effects are less overwhelming, while active skills and enemy danger cues retain priority. Stacked status effects use clearer placement around different-sized characters and monsters. Gearsmith result effects have a longer reading window. Optional ambience better respects Reduced Motion and Reduced Flashes. These presentation changes preserve combat damage, cooldowns, status duration, and rewards. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46260475/21ac1862109834f3f7fb4e9ea642c8cc11d486c6.png Elderwood at Dusk — the second new loading illustration. First Look: Neverrest’s Extraction Mode

I’m building an extraction mode for Neverrest, and I wanted to share a first look at how it’s coming together. The idea is simple: prepare at the guild homestead, venture out to find useful supplies and equipment, then make it back with your haul. The interesting part is deciding when you’ve pushed far enough. A reason to venture out I want each expedition to feel like a small adventure. You leave the safety of the homestead, explore the surrounding regions, and choose where to spend your time. Another building might hold the supplies you need. It might also put another fight between you and the way home. The mode connects outdoor exploration with searchable interiors, giving each trip a mix of travel, combat, and scavenging. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46260475/83bea2e58bbb5529ce10c2288329d5a0331fb00d.png Whispering Woods — one of the regions taking shape in the development build. What fits in your pouch? Containers release physical loot into the world. Supplies go into your pouch as you collect them, and capacity matters: a full pouch means deciding what is worth carrying. The current build includes places such as a clinic, workshop, and storehouse. I’m working on making those locations feel useful to visit, with supplies that connect back to preparation and progression. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46260475/0cefc1bef706fc09c4d0bc1b5b8c7bc73e3c3389.png Searching the clinic. When your pouch is full, remaining supplies stay on the ground. The haul isn’t yours until you extract Finding something valuable is only half the trip. New finds stay unsecured until you successfully extract. If the run ends in defeat, those finds are lost; the equipment you brought into the expedition stays protected. That is the decision I want at the heart of the mode: head home with what you have, or take another risk for a better haul. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46260475/0a33de92b2ea2c5c6981e64dc2613a5e9dd3ba8f.png An extraction boarding window in the current development build.
