Hi everyone,I'm excited to finally share some info about Tube2K.Tube2K is an incremental game inspired by the early 2000s internet era, a time when websites were chaotic, online videos were unpredictable, and nobody quite knew what the future of the internet was going to look like. It was a strange, exciting period filled with flashing interfaces, clunky software, questionable design decisions, and some of the most memorable online experiences many of us have ever had.The idea behind Tube2K started with a simple question:What if you could build a video-sharing empire from the very beginning, starting with nothing more than a basic desktop computer and a dream?In Tube2K, you begin by manually building the algorithm behind a growing video-sharing platform. At first, every click matters. Progress is slow, resources are limited, and growth feels personal. But like any good incremental game, things quickly begin to snowball.New upgrades become available. Systems unlock. Automation takes over repetitive tasks. Numbers start growing faster and faster. Before long, you're managing a platform capable of reaching millions—and eventually billions—of users.Of course, exponential growth is only part of the story.A Love Letter to the Windows XP EraOne of my biggest goals with Tube2K was to capture the feeling of using a computer during the early 2000s.For many people, that era represents a unique moment in internet history. It was a time when broadband was becoming common, online video was still a novelty, and websites felt like experiments rather than carefully optimized products. You never quite knew what you were going to find when you clicked a link.The visual style of Tube2K is heavily inspired by Windows XP-era software and websites.
