Melvor Idle strips RuneScape's progression systems down to their essentials, letting you train 20+ skills through passive grinding and automation. Designed for long-term play with minimal active engagement, it offers the satisfying loop of incremental advancement that appeals to fans of idle games seeking depth without constant attention.
About this game
Inspired by RuneScape, Melvor Idle takes the core of what makes an adventure game so addictive and strips it down to its purest form! This is a feature-rich, idle/incremental game combining a distinctly familiar feel with a fresh gameplay experience. Maxing 20+ skills has never been more zen.

This is a solid incremental. However, the developer rescinded on his promises that the first 3 expansions would be free after buying the game outright. He plans to charge for them now, after leading countless people into purchasing the base game.
This is fraud and actually illegal, and he should not be awarded for it. He has lost his integrity after Jagex threw cash at him, he is utterly disgraceful and pathetic.
EDIT: I have reported the game to Steam and to ACCC for fraud
Quick honest review before I get into the main reason I wrote this: This game is fun. It's an idle game. It's like runescape in conceptual design. If those two descriptions sound appealing to you, consider buying it.
Now for what I came here to say...
There is a malicious and intentionally dishonest review about this game claiming it plans to hack into webcams and install spyware, among other ridiculous accusations. I hate to waste a review to debunk this, but it seems far too many people are taking it seriously.
The reviewer in question is a habitual troll. Several of his reviews on Steam have been blocked and banned by them for reasons one can only imagine. (Note, that reviewer is also deleting any comments that prove his claims wrong.)
Regarding his accusations against this game: completely ridiculous. The EULA for this game is fairly standard. Go read the EULA for any other game you own and chances are they'll be very similar.
The EULA is public ( https://store.steampowered.com//eula/1267910_eula_0 ).
There is nothing in there about installing spyware -- which, by the way, is illegal. What company is going to claim they plan to do that? And if it's not claimed in the EULA, why would the reviewer in question claim it? I'll leave it to your intelligent observations to figure that one out. There's nothing in there about hacking into webcams -- which, by the way, is illegal. There's nothing about selling your location data or other personal information. And the information about "3rd party software" does not mean what some people think -- they're programming libraries (resources that developers use to make accomplishing certain tasks easier). There's nothing malicious in there, despite persistent claims otherwise. But there are people claiming all of these and worse are going to happen. Why? I'll leave it to your intelligent observations to figure that one out as well.
Don't fall for the negative drama. There's nothing shady going on. It's just a licensing agreement. Every program you own has one.
The game itself is fine as an idle game. Everything functions fine, no ludicrous micro-transactions, and even throws in some features to speed the grind along. Overall, pretty good 8/10.
Here's where the fun starts: Spend a year or so playing the game and called its bluff on creating a cloud. It called me on this bluff and wiped my save. "Okay, that's on me", I thought to myself. I then made a cloud save and restarted from scratch. After about 7 months my save got wiped again. "No problem, I made a cloud save and can get right back to it", I thought to myself. Wrong, you're an absolute imbecile for thinking even a cloud save can save your data because it can't or it chose not to just to keep you playing. I don't know what the actual answer is, but if your PAID idle game just arbitrarily deletes data from both local and cloud saves, it shouldn't be allowed to be sold.

Hello everyone! I thought it would be a good idea to provide an update on the progress of the Offline Client since we released it into Beta on Steam two months ago. Crossplay Compatibility In our Steam Beta announcement, we mentioned that content purchased on one platform (e.g., Steam) wouldn’t be accessible offline on another platform (e.g., Mobile). Based on your feedback, we’ve worked on a solution to address this. I'm happy to say we are implementing a system that caches and validates your purchases for up to 30 days while offline. This timer resets each time you load the game with an internet connection. This feature is the main reason the Offline Client hasn’t been fully released yet. We’re actively working on it and aim to have it ready for further testing and release in the coming weeks. Mobile Progress Development of the Android and iOS Offline Client is nearly complete—about 90% done—and will soon be ready for testing! We plan to share an iOS TestFlight link soon, so you can try it out even before Crossplay compatibility is finalised. Anything else being worked on? Yes! We’re also working on something big behind the scenes. Keep an eye on our socials over the next few months for an announcement.
The Offline Client is now available for public Beta testing. This brings full offline functionality to Melvor Idle, allowing you to play the game without an internet connection. It is available to test on Windows, MacOS and Linux (including Steam Deck). How to access You can access the Beta test on Steam by using the Beta code offlineStage2. Your saves are shared between the Live game and the Offline client. There are no actual changes to the game itself as it runs the existing Live version, just with offline functionality. Important information about the Offline Client There's a few important considerations to take note of. 1) You must first load the game once with an internet connection (Up to the character select screen). This will automatically download and save the remaining requires files needed to function that were not bundled with Steam itself. This occurs silently in the background. 2) You cannot access your Cloud Saves or cross-platform purchases when in Offline mode. If there is no internet connection available, the game will enter Offline mode. While in Offline mode, Cloud saves are not available and cross-platform purchases cannot be verified. It will default to purchase verification for the platform you are playing on. This is due to these features requiring internet access to a 3rd party service. The game will make it extremely clear when it is in Offline Mode. 3) The game will check for updates on load and automatically apply them without needing a client restart. Everything is handled silently in the background. If you wish to not have the game update, you can disable its internet access via your respective OS settings or Firewall. If there is no game update, it will use the local offline files to function with access to Cloud Saves and cross-platform purchases enabled. Mods in Offline Mode You can use and manage your Mod Profiles while in Offline mode. However, you cannot search/download new mods (as this requires an internet connection). Any chan...
