For my Steamdeck I ended up purchasing Wordsearch Attack first. So I kind of did things backwards. The dev notes on the storage page that the wordsearch is already in this product. But It was cheaper so I went with it first and I was at that point just looking for word games - in particular word search games. So ended up getting that one going well on the Deck and frankly enjoyed it to the extent that I went back looking at this. It was no longer on sale, but was impressed with wordsearch attack enough I went ahead and got this one too. This one also is playable on deck proton 8.0.5 etc.. I didnt have to change anything fancy except I did assign the steamdeck zoom key to L4 to make things a little easier to read. The dev has adjusters in game as well to enlarge/shrink the interface/text etc.. But was more convenient to jsut assign L4 (I like that better then the decks default steam+LB button thing to zoom). So at first I must admit I was confused. The dev does give intructions for each game. But it takes a little playing and absorbing to get a grasp. The only technical thing for deck to note is to just run the game - dont bother with the launcher. You can tweak things once the game is up. I also dont adjust the settings screen while the help screen is up. Its a bit hard to read at that point. So just do that once the main game (not help screen) is shown after clicking next. Now on to the actual gameplay. 1. BATTLE BOARD. Ive only played the single player, but this is basically a board game that you create different words against another player or the computer. Easy enough to comprehend. Keep in mind though the computer pulls from ALL its dictionaries - not just english lol. (Its like playing my dad with his multiple dictionaries around to prove the word he placed is actually a word. 2. CODEWORD - not much to say I havent beaten this one yet. Basically you get numbers and you get letters and you have to figure out which letter goes with each number to form a word. Its fun - but makes my brain hurt. 3. DECIPHER - Firgure out what the word is by dragging the letters to their place and/or rearranging them . It flags them red/green f you are right or wrong. Again fun, doesnt make my brain hurt as much (maybe I should rate these on which hurt my brain the most lol). 3. PAIRS Memory match game (ahh my brain got to relax a bit) 4. SLIDE - Again one I havent beaten. Slide things around to make words. Not as easy as it sounds! Again a game with a twist - infact all these are so be prepared. 5. UNSCRAMBLE - jsut what its name implies. But given that words come from all the dictionaries makes it a bit harder than you would think. 6. WORD ESCAPE this is like a logic gate puzzle. Its pretty fun. I did notice after completion it didnt give the normal game done prompt and sent me instead back to the main menu. Minor issue and didnt hang the game or anything. 7. WORD HUNT at first I completely didnt grasp this - then I <cough><cough> read the instructions and realized its like minesweeper in reverse. So Instead of using numbers to avoid mines, you are trying to avoid use the numbers to guide you to find the words. While at the same time trying not to use too many to find the words. Little learning curve on that, but again - fun. 8. WORDSEARCH - this is wordsearch attack but with more bells and whistles. Personally this is my favorite. Spin thigns around in 3d/2d and find the words. They are not all english so it can be challenging. Then you have the designers/workshop. You can make your own boards, tiles, backgrounds. there are all kinds of bells and whistles in this thing. I was leary of the price since its not on sale at the moment., But then tallied up the game count, plus the designers etc.. and realized that I was actually getting quite the bang for the buck. The dev has been super responsive when I was trying to work out issues I was having on deck. And despite it being designed for windows after giving feedback on things I noted the dev addressed those issues/made fixes and BOOM I was up and playing wordsearch attack on my Steamdeck. So I bought this realizing it was actually a fair price and knew it would work on steamdeck too. And it did. Granted still some small details on deck. But dev is addressing them almost as fast as I can mention them lol. So please give feedback to the dev. Im sure it will be appreciated. I would list list as playable on deck, I wouldnt go so far as saying verified yet. But Im sure the dev will get it to that point. In any event I fully recommend this. It plays good on windows and steamdeck. If you are leary about the price wait for a sale and its well worth it :)

What players are saying
I'm not one to care about graphics but this is as bad as it looks in every possible way. graphics, controls, audio, ui, everything. there are a bunch of game types but even the ones that work more or less as they should aren't fun. I also managed to crash one of my favorite things (codewords) by changing a few settings. there are a lot of those, very customizable game on paper, but it's a mess. the dev clearly put (and puts) a lot of work into it but it really doesn't show, unfortunately. the price is too high as well, though again, there are about a dozen word games here, so it wouldn't be all that unreasonable if it were done better. a whole lot better.
