Checkers Twist reimagines the classic board game with procedurally generated boards that shift strategy from match to match. Each irregular layout demands fresh tactical approaches, keeping the turn-based gameplay unpredictable despite its familiar rule set. Best suited for strategy players seeking depth without the commitment of learning entirely new systems.
About this game
A turn-based strategy game, Checkers Twist is a variant of the checkers board game, where the board is irregular and procedurally generated, offering new tactics each game.
I have recently updated the rules, so that when a pawn can capture an opponent, it has to perform that capture. This means that a player can intentionally place a piece to force a capture, which could in turn make the opponent in a more precarious position. Until now, the bot was not taking advantage of this. But it does now, and it makes it even more challenging to beat.
This version has the following changes - the bot is stronger. - you can change the board's look from wood to also minimalist and muted. - and most importantly, when you can capture an opponent's pawn, you have to capture. This is a rule in checkers that I had overlooked in the first release. It really adds a good strategic layer, as you can force your opponent into bad moves.
