Hey all, Bauske here. The Spring Event returns to Micro Stream RPG for 2026! If you participated last year, you know the drill, but for those who are newer, here's how it works: Players in your chat can type in a new command, "!event", to enter a special area. Once there, they'll collect eggs by pestering chickens, defeating enemies, or finding them on the ground. If the player makes it to the end, they'll turn in all collected eggs into a giant basket. If they turned in 100 eggs, they'll be given a limited-time badge that will stay on their profile! And if they keep playing and collect 100 more? They'll upgrade their badge to look even fancier and shinier, if that's possible in 2-bit artwork. The maximum badge variant is awarded at 1k eggs collected. This event runs from Saturday, April 25th at 12:00 pm EST to Sunday, May 17th at 11:59 pm EST. I'm extending it a week compared to last year to give people a little more time to earn that badge.Happy egg hunting!~Bauske
Hey all, Bauske here.I know it's been a long while. I'll cut straight to the chase: This update isn't a content update, but instead the update I've been working on for a while to fix the majority of the major bugs that have been plaguing Micro Stream RPG these past few months.I wanted to get a full update out that featured new dungeons, new enemies, some new mechanics, AND have the bug fixes as well. Honestly that was kind of a stupid move on my part. The bug fixes should have been top priority on their own. Add to that that I started a new job in January, and it has been draining getting used to the 8-5 grind again. Full time jobs take up so much of our times, it leaves little room for game dev or creativity, but I've been working on Micro Stream RPG whenever I can to get this stuff done. All this to say that the content update IS still coming, and is moving along nicely. Just a little bit more work to be done in the fourth dungeon and it'll be finished. But for now, I wanted to get this update out that addresses the nasty bugs that caused me months of stress. I think I've finally fixed them. In the build I've been using to test the new dungeons and enemies over the past couple months, I haven't experienced any of the common issues. Feels like I might have squashed the bugs. So, this is a major update for bugs, but a minor update for content. But don't worry, the content is still coming. I'd ultimately like to get it done by the end of March, but I don't want to make any promises I can't keep. For now, try this new version out, and let me know if you still have any of the persistent issues that were happening in the past, like chat disconnects, crashes, or shortcut commands activating in the background.New stuff is coming soon!New Features:Added in visual effects for St. Patrick's Day.Adjustments:Fixed some issues with custom characters for Kyzie, Retropony28, and OddaBnuy.Fixed an issue where unreleased enemy sprites could show in The End Between.Bug fixes:Fixed a b...
Hey all, Bauske here.I hope everyone has had a great holiday season! First off, I want to say thank you for your patience with this project. I feel like this year slipped away from me due to a number of factors. I had so much planned with Micro Stream RPG and unfortunately didn't get to do much of any of it. Between game issues, connectivity problems, and general life hiccups, things didn't turn out the way I wanted. I won't try to make excuses, but I do apologize for the long delay in getting any sort of updates out.On that front, I've rebuilt some of the game engine and pinned down what I think was causing issues beforehand. Not only did my copy of Clickteam Fusion, the program I used to create Micro Stream RPG, go corrupt, but so did an extension which linked the game to Steam. Both of these were responsible for some of the issues the game was having, like crashing, locking up, and shortcut keys activating in the background. Never expected the program itself to sabotage my efforts. But, after reinstalling and rebuilding, it seems to be working properly now.I've also reworked most of the connection coding to hopefully keep the game from randomly disconnecting from chat and/or stalling up. It's taken weeks/months of testing, waiting, and making sure the game stays connected to Twitch, but overall it seems much more stable now.My hope was to surprise you all with a new update by mid December, but obviously that didn't happen. What I'm currently working on is taking a little longer than I expected to finish, but I hope it'll provide some fun content for you all to enjoy once I get it done. Currently I have dungeon 3 completed and dungeon 4 is about halfway done. I'm also trying to get the companion app to a place where it's useable for everyone as well. This will let you customize your character, view your progress, see your badges, bestiary, and more.My plan at the moment is to finish this next update and get it launched hopefully by the end of January, and then rel...
