Warning: AI Slop
This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.

"Sovereign Elect" looks like some kind of strategic RPG, but really this is a web-browser tier idler/incrementer where you pretend you're playing a real game, but really you're just being pushed to buy toxic proced DLC so the developer can get paid for polluting Steam and insulting gamers with digsusting AI slop.

The developers haven't touched this for 4 months. It's in development hell and never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games.

As mentioned, this features really godawful, "wrong" looking AI slop instead of genuinely and sincerely created game assets. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating real game assets or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision. AI slop sticks out like a sore thumb... and it comes across as insulting.

There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too, and that's glaringly obvious here.

As mentioned, this isn't really free as the game is infested with mobile app store like microtransactions. This is a consumer hostile model that we don't need to see on PC. It's deceptively priced to gouge gamers, and that's a reason in itself to avoid this.

Even after that, the developer has their hand out for $29 USD worth of DLC for this as you're expected to buy some extra DLC packages from Steam to fully unlock everything. This is deliberately deceptive pricing when a single up front free would be more honest. The game should not be considered free due to this shady pricing structure.

TWENTY NINE UNITED STATES DOLLARS for AI slop. Just disgusting.

So the developer doesn't have enough time and can't be bothered to finish making this disgusting AI slop, is well past the deadline to complete the game, but apparently had all the time in the world to make up crap DLC and a toxic mobile app cash shop and working financial back end transaction system. AI slop, can't be bothered making the game, but the cash shop works fine. That tells you everything you need to know about the developer behind this and why such a crap game got dumped on Steam.,

Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at just a dozen or so concurrent players, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it.

Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it?

Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

I was captivated for maybe an hour or 2 before I get bored with staring at the same few areas when 'collecting'. Getting more mercenaries does speed up collection, but there really isn't anything different between areas besides the background and collection entities' artwork. It's hard to really feel the different between mercenaries when they're ultimately just collecting, regardless of the spells/effects they do.

Last week I mentioned I would post a road map for the coming weeks/months. I would like to take a moment to do this now. At the moment, this is my list of things I want to get added to the game: • Bounty Board / Random events tied to bounty hunting • Prison and Courtroom areas for crime related random events • Profile Customization / Cosmetic rewards • Election Process / features for those elected • Enemy factions / quest line for hostile elected ruler • Mercenary Synergies / mercenary balance around player verse player combat • Raid Content • Additional crafting options • Bestiary / Game Manual • Better Tutorial / New Player Help January As of now, the bounty system and a few of the random events are ready. I was hoping I would have more complete and ready, but this is not the case. Player verse player content is tied to the bounty system, so I will work to get mercenary combat balanced out this week so I can release an update by the end of the month. Also in development, players will soon be able to earn cosmetic rewards that can be displayed on their player profiles. More details will be released concerning these at a future time. February For the month of February, I plan to develop and release the Election process. The whole point of the game is to become a sovereign elect, and this will finally be added to the game during February. Because I've dragged by feet getting the reputation system going, everything else has had to wait. I suppose there was so much to work on, I simply got overwhelmed. By the end of February, I'm hoping the election systems are all in and functioning as desired. March For the month of March, any additional content that I has come up in development will be worked on. A bestiary or guide book of information will need to be added to the game. Also, more help for new players.

Reverted a couple changes regarding cooldowns. The mailboxes should be persistent now when offline. Also fixed a crash when accepting a quest, which was tied to receiving a certain quest before unlocking the map expansion. I was hoping to release a few of the random events, but due to errors, I am delaying the release until it is more stable. I just wanted to take a moment to express my thanks for those who have been supporting me throughout this game development journey. The last couple weeks have been a bit discouraging due to a corruption of some game files, and a large amount of work still needing to be done. I have noticed that I am burning out, and I've been looking for excuses not to work on this game. The scope of the game has grown more than I initially planned, and it is overwhelming me at this rate. This being said, I will be working on a new roadmap for the next two months. By next week, I hope to have random events ready with a road map for the rest of this month and the next.

- Attempted to fix a bug that caused cooldowns to not reset properly due to the new year. Please notify if cooldowns do not reset after this patch. - Added automated player characters. Their functionality is limited at the moment, but they are in the game. - Coming soon, random events and reputation related features. I am excited to have these added to the game. These things are needed before I can add the end game features. I do have a long list of things I still need to work on, but I feel these features need to be added before I start tweaking other things.
