My Little Life is a low-commitment life sim that runs in a window at the bottom of your screen, letting you build and manage an apartment complex while handling other tasks. You fulfill a character's basic needs through construction choices—from bucket toilets to full bathrooms—and can expand to multiple residents with branching storylines. Ideal for players who enjoy idle progression and creative building without demanding constant attention.

This gets the Rusty's Retirement seal of approval 👍

I absolutely love that I can build a massive apartment tower complex on the side of my monitor. It's a great addition to the 'Bottom-Of-Your-Screen' genre!

I have over 10 hours into this game and here are my observations so you can know if the game is right for you!
Commenting on some confused negative reviews at the bottom, maybe it will answer some of your questions!

This is an idle sim like game. You have a little person you need to fulfil the needs of. You can give them a bucket to poop in or make them a beautiful bathroom. How you fulfil their needs will result in less or more productive peeps. As you play you unlock more and more. It goes slowly because it is an idle game but money does come in faster once you unlock all the characters and have them working.

The game is very forgiving. If you buy the wrong item you can sell it for the same price you bought it. Meaning you can't buy yourself into a corner and not be able to proceed.

Bugs. Yes. There are some bugs still. I haven't encountered many and they aren't game breaking for me. Can always wait for the game to be polished up more before you buy if you are concerned.

Tips and Tricks!
- Keep an eye on if an item "Ignores Zone Restrictions" Those can be used by all your people and saves money in early game.
- Use the wood walls at first to save money. Later on you can sell them and rebuild the house with fancy walls!
- Place things on shelves!
- If your person is being difficult you can pick them up and put them in front of the item you want them to use. If they don't use it check your character Zones. It's the tab right above career paths.
- Check your character zones!
- You can help their skill stats by adding items into their zones. They will slowly raise those skills as they walk around interacting with things.
- The more their needs are fulfilled and nicer a zone you make them, the more money they make.

Trying to help out those with Confused Negative Reviews:
"Why wont my character do anything!?" did you follow the guide quests that walk you through the game? Your person wont want to work unless you give them a career and have some basic needs filled. If they aren't working make sure you haven't clicked off work.
"This looks too small on large monitors and there is no way to make it bigger" There is a button to make the game larger or smaller on monitors. There are 2 game sizes. I have a 32inch 4k monitor and don't seem to have the same problem that people are mentioning. I do wish it had more game size options though. A size between small and mid would be nice. Maybe that is what they were looking for.
"The second person wont work!" Follow the quests! You might have forgotten to click complete on a quest. Eventually you will be able to set zones for each person. The Default area is set only to the first character. You have to resize preferred areas for each new person.
"My character isn't getting packages" Might be night time.

Hope this review helps some people. It is a very charming little game.

It's an interesting game in that it's less of a sim and more of a puzzle. Here is your randomly generated character that you cannot customize. You can change its name but not its skin color, clothes, or voice pitch. Get a second character! But that specific character has a specific storyline where they don't want a career. In horizontal mode, you can have a two-story house... and everyone can share the bathroom but not the kitchen stove. But they can share the microwave.

Multiple characters make sounds and emote at each other, but that's the extent of it. With the space-sharing limitations, vertical mode makes more sense, making a multi-story building and assigning specific floors to each character. However, the scaling options are limited, so vertical mode is tiny on my screen and virtually unplayable.

I strongly dislike leaving this to idle on my screen because the sound of little people defecating interrupts my focus.

If you wanted to customize a little avatar and build them a nice house and pack that house with familiar faces, this is not the game for you. Still, I can see the appeal of some of these things. I'd recommend this to someone who likes to 100% complete idle games then never touch them again.
