Doodle Harmony Idle Merge combines collecting and merging cute doodles to generate currency for upgrades, but lacks the automation expected from an idle game—most progression requires active play rather than passive background generation. The core loop is compact and finishable in a few hours, though achievement hunting extends playtime considerably. Best suited for players seeking a cozy, low-stakes merging experience rather than a true hands-off idle game.

An idle game that it is not really an idle game, except for waiting for the the achievement to play for 24 hours to unlock. Let me explain.

The premise is that you merge 2 doodles together into a next level doodle which will give you more currency to buy upgrades to easier getting higher level doodles.
However the game is terribly balanced, impressively so. So the fastest way to progress is to just use the "fast spawn" and "auto-merge" power-ups, buy as many "tier up" upgrades as you can, wait for the power ups to run out and then prestige. And do that over and over and over again till you basically beat the game and have all doodles level 100. So yea, not an idle game at all and it only takes a couple of hours to complete.

On top of that the game is extremely basic and misses so many really basic quality of life things:

- there is no indication how much money each doodle is making you except the quick pop up when the money is earned. Also no indication how much merging doodles will make you.
- No way to bulk buy upgrades. I don't want to click on the same upgrade 75+ times every time I prestige.
- No timers to see how much time you have left on the power ups.
- Selling doodles is really cumbersome, I will there was a hotkey or a sell mode.
- Once you reach level 100 doodles there is just no point in playing anymore. There is literally nothing there to do anymore, other than prestige again, but why would you even bother, especially if you have to click all the upgrades level by level again.
- The "Play for a total of 24 hours" is stupid and pointless. It is just there to artificially inflate your playtime.

It is also quite buggy with the order of the power-ups usage and the endgame is honestly just one big bug.

I do appreciate you have dark mode offered to you at least.

Basically, it is a pretty bad idle game, definitely not worth your money for 4,99€ and the amount of positive reviews is honestly surprising. Don't bother.

Works without any issues on Linux with Proton (9.0-3).

It is fun and cute, albeit a bit short (finished in less than 3 hours).

If you want to get all the achievements, It seems like you are able to "finish" the game way before you are able to get all of them. This is a bit annoying because you basically leave the game open with not much to do except farm those last few achievements.

There is a lack of automation so I have to continue to play despite having played it for nearly two hours now. That is, despite, the title of the game suggesting that you're able to idle and let it run independently in the background. The game has potential but as it is it only serves to exhaust your time.
