Plants grow.
Snails crawl.
Succulents are watered.

But war. War never changes.

They start out having you look at which plants you want, the designs of different pots, the layout and where you want to put your seedlings. You would think this is some kind of a plant simulator game.

Wrong. Classic misdirection.

This game is all about the snail. The snail is the one unchanging variable. You can pick up your snail. You can spray your snail with water. But the snail will just keep going, always in the same direction. It will not turn around, it will not change speed.

The snail is a metaphor for life. It just keeps going.

You can even speed up time itself - the game does a timelapse when you've had it off for several hours. During that timelapse, the snail doesn't zoom around. Plants will grow before your eyes but the snail does not give way to your constructs of time and space, it will move at its own pace.

Edit: by a recent update, the snail now toots. Life isn't all flowers. Kodus for this true-to-reality touch.

I run this game every work morning.

I get rid of the weeds. I spray my little plants. I spray the snail. Hehe, wet snail. I check it randomly throughout the day.

Best (only?) pot plant simulator on the market. A+

Wee bug fix

This patch is to fix a bug that's only really coming up on mobile versions right now. The fix changed some underlying code in a way that is better optimized, but that probably won't be noticeable either. Happy spring 🐌🌱

Apple Silicon Fix

Fixed an issue with the Steam integration that was causing immediate crashes on Apple Silicon devices (I think). Also fixed some minor UI issues that occurred at extreme aspect ratios, and found and fixed a bug where window size changes made in the nursery were reset when returning to your pot.

Post-Gyroscope Fixes

Just some quick fixes in response to early feedback from the Crystal Gyroscope Update.Viridi will now launch in windowed mode by default. The ESC menu has a button to toggle between windowed and fullscreen modes.Viridi will attempt to remember your selected mode and resolution and will re-launch in that mode. The bottom/main menu, spritz, and hoist buttons will now shift around as you resize the window, to keep a functional, good-looking layout. The minimum width of this menu area has been expanded to support even longer plant names. The ESC menu will now unhide UI when it opens. (There is a semi-secret function of the Z key hiding/unhiding the UI. ESC will force unhide, which I think will be easier for people when they accidentally hide the UI without knowing what's up.)The rename UI will now properly close when you click away from a plant without finishing rename. Thanks for your feedback and your patience! Let me know if anything else is busted. 🐌
