Chosen Garden layers roguelike deck-building onto grid-based gardening, where you plant seeds, trigger weather and animal events, and harvest 3x3 sections for points across multiple runs. With over 100 plants and environmental modifiers that create emergent synergies, it rewards both strategic planning and experimentation, making it ideal for players who enjoyed Balatro or Luck be a Landlord but prefer a cozy agricultural setting.

Super adorable and fun roguelike deckbuilder. The general vibe is most similar to Cat God Ranch, and obviously inspired by Luck be a Landlord and Balatro. Also somewhat similar to a very small indie game called Crop Rotation, actually.
Overall, a cute, easy and good time You have a bunch of plants that fill up a 9x9 field randomly based on their amount, you harvest a 3x3 square and are scored based on the plants in that square. There's a lot of modifications, archetypes and synergies. It's generally good, fast fun and presents a challenge pretty quickly as you go on higher difficulties. There's lots of cool modifiers, and it's all well crafted into a pleasant package. It's hard to say what makes games like these tick, but in the first few hours, it feels like the balance and vibes are appropriate.
Would definitely recommend for fans of the genre.
My main issue right now is the localization It's not as big of an issue as some non-English game designers but some effects are hard to parse, which obviously detracts from the game. Primarily, the Base x Mult thing is sort of unclear, and one of the upgrade animals tells you what it upgrades in Chinese.
Editing to add: More issues have popped up. As expected of an indie game, there's some glitches. Achievements are triggering that I definitely did not do. The way difficulties are unlocked is a bit weird and unclear as well.
Overall though, the game is well crafted, well made and fun. After playing quite a few hours, I'm reasonably certain I'll keep playing. The balance feels good, certainly on the more difficult end of things depending on the map. Would definite recommend getting it at this price.
Good variety of combinations. Some of which are broken but in a fun/satisfying way. The RNG, new unlocked plants, and harder levels will force you to try out other combinations, and finding those new combinations make you feel smart.
I've perfected the achievements, so I'm probably done with this game, but it was well worth the money. Highly recommend if you're looking for a strategy game with depth but does not require full focus once you understand how things work.
This update focuses on fixing a batch of high-impact issues reported by players. Fixed tools still applying their effects after being disabled. This includes Refrigerator, Suitcase, Suitcase+, Masterball, Masterball+, Magnifying Glass, Magnifying Glass+, Coupon+, and similar tools. Disabled tools no longer keep working. Fixed Jellyfish permanently reducing Harvest Charges even if you leave without choosing a card. Fixed the harvest selection box remaining after the scoring animation if the mouse was moved onto a hand card to view its details, which could trigger another harvest on click. Fixed an issue where owning Backpack or Backpack+ could make the shop show only 2–3 plants on entry, returning to normal after a reroll. Fixed Fated Scholar still appearing in the shop after all Legendary plants have been collected, which would show Missed on purchase. Fixed animal buffs along the top overlapping the plant count display on the right when too many were active. Thanks to all gardeners for the reports. Happy harvesting.
