I’m very carefully going to give this a borderline thumbs up, though it’s more of a neutral review, but Steam isn’t giving us that option, so I must choose. And I don’t have strong negative feelings towards the game, therefore I don’t see the need to give it a thumbs down. I don’t hate it, just slightly dislike it, while still having fun and joy out of it. Yeah, that sounds weird, doesn’t it? Let me explain, for me, it was an addictive experience, and I can honestly say I binge played the living frek out of it. From mostly clicking, to keeping an ear open for power-ups, to sometimes letting it idle or run offline- although I would more call this a clicker or an active idle game rather than truly idle idle, nevertheless, I sped through, up, down, left and right in every way, shape and form. True addiction, I guess, to keep upgrading, to keep opening ascension nodes, to keep pushing it a little bit further every time… But I still consider it a mixed bag since there were points I wasn’t so fond of.

The mini games are one of them. Not only do I have to swap out my keyboard from azerty to qwerty since its layout bound rather than the position of the keys, I also feel the moment it starts, especially with the alien invaders one, it's already over, even despite having my fingers positioned, it felt like it was already over. The snake one is ok, but I'm also just not fond of it in general. I guess I would rather have seen something else, like a slot machine, a pachinko, or something else easy and silly. But that could be an issue of just flavour. Some might like these.
But I skip them, even if that gives me a disadvantage. The same with the coin rain tbh, I’m too lazy to try and click them one by one while they’re not even worth that much.

Another issue I notice is that it feels very much like a hit-or-miss situation, very luck-based.
If you manage to strike a few good powerups in a row, your ascend number will skyrocket through the roof —making it a blast, tbh —but if you’re having an unlucky run, it feels so slow, as if there is no progress at all. I was literally hearing while watching a series for those precious power-ups, as they really seemed to carry me through to buy another level or power-up.
And like I said, if they go wild, it can get suuuuper wild. It also helped to click along with certain ones being active, like the coin, the finger, and the auto clicker, to boost them even more. The satisfying look of seeing the ascending levels rise and flash by in less than seconds was just *drool* glorious. It felt good. Those wild combos are just everything in this game.

Now, sadly enough, I cannot go back and check in my ascend tree since I unlocked the very last, special one, but I swear my upgrades tend to auto-buy, and I’m not sure if it’s due to an ascend node or not. It would’ve been great to have an option to turn that off rather than losing all your gold, especially when you’re saving up for something.

And then there is the endgame and the last achievements, both in-game and on Steam. They feel very much unreachable. Mainly because it’s not clear if ascending still works with the previously opened nodes. The game is somewhat limited in providing comprehensive information. And because you get tanked down so fast, with every ascension you gain, you pretty much lose a lot. So, I hope in the near future to see some better options and balancing so I can return and pick up those last cheevos, just for fun. I wouldn’t mind more nodes to help in the late game either. Toes crossed for that! Since I dislike feeling like someone who’s chasing a carrot on a treadmill.

All that being said, and despite those issues, I still feel drawn to it. I still want to go back in, even if my head says wait till there are a few patches. But eh, I’ll see, I guess. I’ll try to hold out since it’s definitely on the right track, just not fully there yet… or perhaps I cave and go back regardless to see if I really can’t push and grind.

In-game achievements VS showing coins per second punishment.

Update: The recent balance changes helped the early game somewhat. Still takes a long time, but its more manageable. The game is still 100% reliant on RNG of getting multiple buffs to ascend. The new issue is the endgame, it scales your money down so fast that buying enough of each of the generators to get achievements done is going to be impossible.

Also add on that we added MTX that actually buff you in game for some reason. The game already has AI generated assets I assume these are as well yet we're expected to pay for them. And they are half the cost of the game itself, while not a lot silly to add before fixing the issues in game and even worse to let them have actual gameplay buffs even if minor.

At this point I don't think the game will ever be worth recommending. Its a decent enough first try at a game though. Maybe next time.

Original:
If there was middling review, I'd put it there. Its okay, it scratches the itch of being an idle game. But it is way to slow to get going. There are also 0 tool tips to explain anything, except on the Ascension tree. It takes ages to get your first ascension, which is done by the coins filling up the background. Then the minor upgrade, just barely speeds up the next run. The only way it seems to go faster is if you get RNG and get 2 of the x25 buffs, but otherwise with the game idling it is way to slow. I've played active and idle for ~10hrs and ascended twice. Neither time drastically sped up the next run. Hopefully some balancing is done to make this more fun as of right now it isn't there.
