Abyss Horde is a wave-defense game where you fortify against increasingly dangerous monster incursions from the abyss. Between runs, you unlock permanent upgrades that reshape your strategy, creating a progression loop that rewards both tactical placement during combat and long-term investment. Ideal for players who enjoy tower-defense mechanics with a roguelike structure where cumulative upgrades gradually tip the balance in your favor.

Yup, it's a "tower" defense roguelite. Balanced to be incremental in "difficulty". Aka you got to like grinding the meta upgrades. It's very slow, and very repetitive. I found it exactly when I needed something low-energy, otherwise I may not be happy with my purchase.

I like that the weapon-towers are all unique in their effects, radius, and visuals. Keeps it fresh and engaging between runs. You stand still and watch mobs die as your xp goes up. Then you choose a new upgrade. Repeat. That's really all there is to it.

Even the meta upgrade tree is rather simplistic. There are no quirky effects like "on burn something happens", or "split projectiles on collision" or "on hit effects". It's just pure "attack", "gold", "xp", or co goes up.

And do be aware that you're not actively moving or anything. It may feel a little boring or stale if you're here for the "bullet heaven" or "shoot 'em up"... I really don't see these tags happening.

You're essentially paying the price of a coffee in town, and I got great easy entertainment to play while sipping my coffee, so this is fine. Just that though. Good old filter bew to crunch some numbers upwards while defending your wall. Not your next rare or indepth brew. No mechanics hiding anywhere that'd be different from what's shown in the trailer/storepage. You're already seeing all the game there is.

I remember playing something similar on phone a couple times, but they were always plagued with micro transactions. This one got none.
