You program a bee colony by wiring together logic nodes, watching your workers execute your instructions with literal-minded precision—often producing hilariously unintended results. The core loop involves automating increasingly complex tasks as your hive grows from a single bee to a self-sustaining colony, all while the Queen demands ever greater productivity. It's ideal for players who enjoy puzzle-solving and programming concepts without requiring coding experience, blending humor with genuine strategic problem-solving.

Version 0.1.1: the Queen has requests, and she pays in skins

Hello, beekeepers who do not keep the bees. This is the first WaxWire update with enough in it to deserve a devlog. Version 0.1.1 is about giving your colony something to do between the Queen's big Decrees, and something nice to wear afterwards. All-new PetitionsThe Petitions board has been rebuilt from scratch. It now holds 15 short challenges, and the game picks the ones that suit the colony you have. A young hive gets asked for a few quick loads of nectar. An old one gets asked for something ruder. You take one at a time. Each one is small enough to finish in a few days of the meadow's calendar, and each one wants a slightly different program than the one you already wrote. That is the point. Wings to unlockPetitions now pay in wings. Every two Petitions you meet unlock a new wing form for your bees, eight in all. They change nothing about how a bee works. They change everything about how smug it looks while working. A colony that runs itselfFour new Colony skills let the Hive page take over the late game. Once you have them, the hive can do its own housekeeping from one page of nodes, and you can go back to the fun part: watching it all run and pretending you planned it. Copy and paste nodesCtrl+C, Ctrl+X and Ctrl+V now work on nodes, and they work between pages. Build a good idea once, then paste it wherever a bee needs it. Smaller thingsThe game is a third smaller on Windows, and faster.Continue opens the save you played last.Decree hints have animated pictures.Saves are better protected, and old ones still load.Fixes for Petitions, Sun Court and Collapse to method. If this sounds like your kind of quiet evening, a wishlist helps more than anything else right now. Thank you for reading, and be nice to your bees. They are doing exactly what you told them.
