Incremental Epic Breakers pairs block-breaking mechanics with base defense and map exploration across an enormous scale, drawing from the anime RPG genre. However, players report the game demands constant active engagement rather than functioning as a true idler, suffers from unclear UI design, and heavily monetizes premium currency, making it a challenging recommendation even for fans of the developer's previous work.

Avoid this game like the plague.
  • Has nothing to do with an idler as it requires constant attention and actions.
  • About as intuitive as a quantum mechanics textbook.
  • Cluttered and restrictive design.

And last but not least, my antivirus blocked a malicious link while I was playing the game so it likely attempts to infect your computer with a virus while you play.

The developers did a great mistake on this game. They forgot, what made IEH so successful and took just the bad parts out of it and combined it with even worse extras. While they added premium currency in IEH, this game has just been build around the premium currency (epic coins). Im just playing it because i want the bonus for IEH and its even with the hefty bonus from IEH quite a hard thing to do. Hard because this game requires thousands of clicks.... attention on multiple places and many annoying and tedious tasks, which are mostly there to sell epic coins to automate these tasks. Playing this game for fun is like riding a dead horse to get forward. No matter, how much you try, dead is dead. Using epic coins is like pushing this dead horse forward. It helps for a short time but then it continues to do, what it already did....

Now to the content. This game is about breaking blocks and crafting "towers" like tetris blocks. Both is quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥. There is block breaking, mission and challenge.

Block breaking means just breaking blocks. But the gold cap needs to be high enough to actually unlock these blocks first. This is, what limits your progress. For every stage of blocks you get a own upgrade series of (allways the same) 6 options. These need to be clicked at many of times to purchase. Currently im at stage 6 and its already annoying.

Mission is to break blocks... just with time limit and some reward for ascension (like Rebirth). During first ascension its quite a bit. But later on it becomes meh...

Challenge is, where you see the enemies on field. Biggest ♥♥♥♥ ever. These drop rarely (very rarely) chests. In such chests you can get traps. After you catch these, you can send em on expedition. There they get... chests. They get 3 chests per 30 minutes, when you gather ressources in challenge to pay for expeditions.

In these chests you can get the equipment. This equipment is mighty but random luck. Upgrading is just ♥♥♥♥. You can fuse two identical equipment, but the strong random secondary effects of the equipment don't upgrade while the primary standard effect gets increased slowly and in identical steps (200 ->210->220). This means the equipment progress is rather limited.

You can beak equipment to craft artifacts, which is similar to the dark ritual gems of IEH. Low progress and little effect. I should also mention, that you need to click several dozen chests for ressources for one little upgrade. These chests rarely drop from killed foes. You will see about one per 2-5 minutes.... at later stage of game and with a bit of luck.

The only "weapons" for challenge are the ball and the cannons. The cannons have a size, which prevents the whole area to be shot at. The cannons do just aim forward. The foes go toward the base and this base has a very weak cannon with ultralow firerate and can be virtually one shot by anything even at later stages. The best way of defense is placing boosters and power blocks to strengthen and accellerate the ball while hoping, that it will hit something randomly. Combining with anything else did always worsen the result.

You can trap monsters only in infinity type challenges. These have to be unlocked by playing them first. The monsters can upgrade 2 things. First upgrade kind is the level of the expedition team. For every stage there is one type of monster. This type makes up one expedition team. The team slime and the team bat are the two teams at the beginning. The second kind of upgrade is the base, which you need to defend during challenge. These upgrades work only in the stage, where the monsters came from. And one type of monsters can do only one type of upgrade. Red slimes and bats (And any other red monster i guess) can only upgrade stength. During any stage you can find 3 types of monsters and (allways the same) types of upgrades.

A really bad part is, that you need for crafts for every stage the same crafts from previous stages to build. You build big cannons from small cannons. When you want to begin building for stage 5 you need to assign ressources to all 5 stages. Progress is of course quite low. And the coolest part here is, that all resources of prevous stages get consumed. If you just build stage 6 cannons and need some stage 5 cannons.... you need to build them because they have been consumed. Sounds like fun eh... to give it a topping you got just as much workers (spirit) as your level. Every worker can do one task. Crafting, upgrading and automation. Im at level 450 now. You need to click every worker assignment once. If you want to have free 450 workers you need to search their assigned tasks and click them out with 450 clicks. And you need 450 clicks more to assign them again,

All of this has to be done continously and frequently, which makes this game to a clickfest. I hope you got your autoclicker ready. Long term playing won't work witout.

Now for the finals lets continue with something most beginners maybe are wondering about. There are chests and keys. Yes, as most experienced players may expect, you will get more golden chests than keys very very soon. I got just 3 of the 10 possible expedition teams and i let them go for 4 hour expeditions (= less chests, but higher quality... but still less chests per day). But im down to 0 keys while i open chests while im actively doing challenge. But of course someone will say you can get keys during active gameplay. Thats, what im doing. Nitro and challenge while waiting for chests. And as i said, i used the last key while the chest flow did not even start. At the current state of my game i cannot buy keys, but the first golden chest without key sits in the invetory and there is no way to get rid of it. Ok, nowe i got 3 of these. Soon my inventory will be full of golden chests without keys and i cannot get any common chest anymore. Sounds like fun.

Another thing is, that during challenge the amount of challenge chests (only There you can get the keys) seems to go down when you play more actively. I ran dozenz of runs of slime soldier challenge. During beginning i saw 1-3 chests per run, But soon it became 1-4 runs per chest. Now it is the same. I noticed it, because i needed one day just one more fragment for an upgrade and it took lots of runs for this last one. Now its the same. I want keys and chests get scarce. As soon as i leave the window idling in background and come back later, there are suddenly some extra drops of chests suggesting that inactivity may increase droprate as well. This game seems to ensure that the player does not get too fast, what he wants and that he stays active. I know similar drop filters from other games and i really hate these!!!

Edit: 02.04.2021: Now i played this 116.4 hrs. More than 35 of them were active hours. Now, finally got the 10 IEB Bonus upgrades from the event. These are the 10, which i actually wanted. The others are not worth continuing this game here. Without my 18 upgrades i brought from IEH i would have needed much more hours to get this far. But whatever. It was already quite a painful and annoying way to get these 10 in this way. And now im done. Its over. Its finally over and i can live on forgetting this...... game.

I liked Incremental Epic Heroes (IEH) by the same developer, so I gave it a try. I have to say that at first I didn't like this one very much. It required a lot of active play, it was very slow to improve, and honestly just breaking blocks wasn't very fun. I stuck with it though mostly out of loyalty to the developers.

It got a LOT better. First the developers put out an update that speeds the progress early on which was really needed. Secondly, the game modes get interesting later on. The missions are the first start, but it really gets fun with the challenges and as you really start to use the crafting system.

I'm really glad I stuck with the game because I think it is more fun that IEH at this point and certainly has a lot more complexity to it.

There are some serious issues still. First of all, it is not intuitive (especially the craft system) and you have to go elsewhere online to figure it out. The reload time after ascension is very slow - not sure what is going on there. Common Qualify of Life features are not shown with mouse-overs (buy 5, rotate, lock, etc.) and you should look elsewhere for finding out these key shortcuts until they make their way into the game. The key is very hard to play without them.

I think the game is great but you have to get over an initial wall of boring play and not knowing what the systems do or how they work. I think this will stop a lot of players from playing long enough to get to the fun stuff but right now it is in my top 2 favorite idle games. I hope the developers will keep improving it and especially add a lot of the 'routines' (which automate aspects of play) in earlier. A little bit of polish/improvement could go a long way in making this playable for the typical player.
