Still gonna recommend as its a fun game at core, however i'm very annoyed that nearly everything was made weaker in the final release compared to the playtest. Which completely destroyed the possibility of doing any fun 'off meta' builds. Seriously, I don't know if its just that enhancements were nerfs or enemies where buffed but, unless I get prisms early im dying before round 50. Whereas I was able to get into the high 100s during the test. Dunno if it's intentional or not, but it feels unbalanced rn on the weaker side of things. Unless you get good rng your dead because its very unforgiving.

I like the idea of this game, but I can't recommend it. Each time I try to play it, it makes my computer fans go at super high speed, and I am running an impressive rig that can run Starfield on high graphics, and even that doesn't make my fans go crazy like this does. Add that to the fact that there is no way to change the graphics, makes me feel like, it's either poorly programmed, or there is more running in it that meets the eye. I won't refund it, as I am hoping it's just poor programming, and needs a little TLC to straighten that out. If it does, then I will be happy to change my review to a recommendation, and change the entire review. Also, the new features, the enhancements things you can buy, seem a little weak, and under powered. I mean, a lot of the weapons have damage in the single digits, so adding 1% to damage takes for ever for it to make a difference.
Honestly, this is my new favorite game. It is hard for me to find simple, and intuitive games with a lot of depth as a guy with 2 kids in his late 30s. I just don't have the mental capacity to learn complicated games anymore. This game is easy to pick up and keep you busy for hours. It is easy to play with the kids as well. After every wave you basically get a pause as well until you activate the next wave. Thus, the game can sit open if you need to walk away for hours and come back. I also really like the idea that you have a small number of towers (usually 1 unless high wave level) that you are just powering up each wave. Very creative spin on an old genre. So far I have made it to level 50.
