Minutescape asks you to survive five-minute bullet-dodging sessions while unlocking new abilities and purchasing upgrades to improve your survivability. The retro-style incremental loop promises steady progression through new mechanics, though players report the core gameplay becomes repetitive and grindy before meaningful variety emerges, and the 3-4 hour campaign length may not justify its price for those seeking substantial long-term engagement.

The demo was alright the rest is not. Dev said the length of the game should be around 3.5h which makes it a bit expensive. Then again, I'm all in for supporting indie devs but...
- You can not get your demo data to the game. -Using the mouse to move is great and all, but having the movement speed limited makes it more frustrating than anything. Upgrades that increase movement speed only makes you feel "alright" until you try to move your mouse a bit too quick and get back to that "hampered" feeling. - The pacing of the game is really slow, even slower than the demo, it's like the dev want you to at least spend 2h before finishing the game. - The upgrade are mostly stats based and there isn't much to truly change the gameplay. - Most upgrade are blocked until you do a lot of the same one around, so the tree is quite directive. Also it's not like you can make a choice since most upgrade are hidden until you get close to them anyways... - A lot of the time you can't advance even being goodl, you just have to die and grind...a lot!
Overall I'm a bit sad, I had high hopes for the game because the first few minute feels great and novel, but there isn't much more to see.
Note: At the time of posting (1h45 after release), there are two positives review saying that you can complete the game using differents paths (did they get the game earlier? since they wouldn't have the time to complete it...). This sounds weird since the upgrade tree is quite directive. Both of them have only ever made 2 reviews, one has a private profile, the other is friend with the devs. ~o~
Extremely short. Was a decent first hour, glazed through the second hour trying not to fall asleep, third hour was a little more interesting as things opened up....and then it's done. Felt more like a Game Jam demo. Not worth full price. Perhaps half, but that's generous in my opinion.
nowhere near worth the price. gameloop started promising but got grindy and boring very quickly. upgrades are very shallow. i'm not refunding the game but i would not recommend it to a new comer
