A productivity-themed pixel-art sim where you construct a personalized workspace to support real-world focus and task completion. The game layers mindfulness elements—plant care, tarot readings, pet interactions, and break-time minigames—into a gentle loop that rewards planning and ritual-building rather than endless progression. Best suited for players seeking a calming desktop companion that bridges work and play without demanding constant engagement.

Summer break is over, and we’re slowly heading into autumn. It’s a season of warm colors, crisp breezes, pumpkins, and cozy afternoons with a cup of tea. So get comfortable, sip your drink, and catch up on what we’ve been working on over the past few weeks. We’ve reworked much of the game’s UI to lean fully into that late-’90s/early-2000s desktop feel. Think Windows XP nostalgia, but cozy. It’s a look that just fits the retro-desktop spirit of Occult Office. UI design might seem straightforward, but getting it right takes a lot of work. After all, it plays a big part in shaping a game’s identity. What we’re most excited about, though, is our new key art. You’ve probably already noticed it on our refreshed Steam page, and we think it looks great! We’re incredibly grateful to Jenny Brozek, the talented artist who painted it. She’s a fellow indie developer working on her own café management game, and we’ll share more about it when the time is right. Her illustration has exactly the magical, nostalgic atmosphere we’ve been aiming for: our witch pouring her heart into her project by moonlight. Jenny captured that feeling perfectly. The game is getting closer and closer to completion, so stay tuned for more updates!
During this heat wave, something other than the temperature is warming my heart.Occult Office is taking part in an amazing event organized by Wholesome Games: the Wholesome Games Celebration! We’re celebrating alongside so many wonderful developers and are really happy to be part of this big, cozy games family. And here’s a fun fact: we’re the only desktop companion game in the Upcoming category! That makes us even prouder to represent the genre during the event. What can you expect? From August 6–13, you can discover upcoming games, try demos, and find special deals on games that are already released. We keep our fingers crossed for all devs and their games.Alex
🔮 I'm writing this while playing Occult Office and looking at our newest feature. Companion mode was one of the most requested functions from you all, and honestly, we weren't sure it was possible. It felt outside the scope of what we'd planned. Still, we decided to try anyway.Companion mode shrinks Occult Office down to a small, transparent overlay that sits quietly in the corner of your screen. Your familiar stays close, your timer keeps ticking ⏳, and you can still customize your workspace, all while you work in other apps. And you know what? I absolutely love it 🖤. Building your cozy office or growing plants is nice, but sometimes I just need a small reminder that there's something quietly waiting in the corner while I'm working with two screens open 🖥️. You were right, it makes the whole Occult Office experience richer and more complete.Thank you for pushing us on this one 🙏.
