Slimeward tasks you with building and upgrading a village while recruiting heroes to defend against an encroaching slime threat. The game runs passively in the background with active management of upgrades and combat encounters. It's a lighthearted, low-stakes idle experience that works well as a side activity, though completionists should note that some content is still being stabilized by the developer.

The Cuteness in the game does work for me, but that is also the only thing it really has.

The game is simple,
You wait, upgrade stuff and wins,

But since it so simple i could use an option to turn on numbers,
like I have no idea how most of the upgrades does other then I have to asume the flavor text is correct.

There are other idle games, that has more "game play" then this.

This is fine as a how to create a idle game,
but not as a finish game that you pay for.

🤍Cute designs.
🤍Catchy gameplay loop as a leave in the background idler. No pressure grind or intense distractions. (Cannot even die or lose.)
🤍Achievements/Completionist
🤍Works on Steam Deck and has 🎮 support.

💔Storyline + gameplay/mechanics are too simple. It's not immersive or satisfying esp with how it abruptly ends.
💔 About 5-8 hrs of mostly idling collecting resources to click on upgrades and idling more to gain points to prestige. Not much substance/tactics/quests/variety/etc in comparison to other games in the genre. Hard to believe this is not early access.
💔The white haired character in the games ad is no where to be found. Not even to explain the very brief tutorial. Neither are the "endless challenges" alluded to in the game's description. Guess its opposites day.. Err game.?
💔Well that was... disappointing. The game is cozy and it seems to be going somewhere but it just falls short. Literally. We finished the game before our 5th Prestige which is an achievement before the end of game achievement. It's simply too bare bones all around. If the Devs fleshed it out a bit, gave it some replay value and added more achievements it would be worth the price of 2.99.
💔It also needs better automation. This game doesn't have a tag for clicker but it should as it requires lots of clicking to upgrade and/or to help units attack the slime. In its current state it is not worth the sale price of 2.39$. There are others the same price if not cheaper, definitely better, and with replay value out there than this. It really is such a shame. If the Devs decide to add/make changes will be more than happy to replay and amend this review.

Fun premise, and really well executed, I liked the background music a lot.

(But am I the only one that feels bad about launching a continual assault on a slime that was just minding it's own business)
