It's like an afternoon snack.
I loved the atmosphere, but the gameplay was too repetitive. Which was tolerable because I finished the game in under 2 hours.

I'd really love to see the devs make another game and see how that'd turn out—therefore, I bought the supporter pack.
I can sense a lot of potential lying here.

So first of all, this game is really cheap, so I won't claim the dev was being unfair with the pricing by any means.

However, even if it were 'free'... this didn't have anything going for it. A few quick thoughts:
- There's no interesting mechanics.
- There's technically interaction between units/upgrades, but nothing that's interesting, and nothing that offers strategy
- Prestige feels unfulfilling.
- Ending feels unfulfilling.
- Game is over in a few hours even if you play inefficiently, and the last 80% of the game plays more or less the same.

...And that's about it. Pixel art is fun (judge for yourself in the screenshots) but beyond that it's a fairy hollow experience. I was actually kind of excited about this, given the dev and his previous/current game and the artwork. I have no problems paying for idle games, even short ones... but for this one, even at the price of "free" I'd probably pass on this if tossed back in time.

I will say I am looking forward to the other (final release) game by the same dev. It feels odd that they were developed by the same person.

Feed the Greed is a short idle/incremental game that leans pretty heavily into the active side of things. As far as they go, this one is unremarkable in every way, and it falls short on all metrics important to these kinds of games. There are definitely worse things to spend 3 bucks on, but I find it difficult to think of a single other game in the genre that you wouldn't play over this.

The total time to complete the game is about 1 hour, with another 2 or 3 hours to get a few grindy achievements. This is extremely short, even by the standards of the genre. Unfortunately this game lacks any redeeming qualities to make up for this short length.

The actual gameplay itself is close to as basic as you can get, its not COMPLETELY brainless, but strategy is quite limited. There are a few different options to choose from, but there is a fairly clear "best path" to follow which makes the options feel a bit superficial.

As for the graphics and music, all I can really say is that they aren't anything particularly special, again being a bit on the basic side even for the genre. This is definitely a much more subjective thing, and i'm sure that there are others who will enjoy the style more than I did.

A significant number of people who play these games like to debate the value of the game considering its price, and while I generally disagree with judging games based off of that, I think that this game is perhaps the best justification for that mindset.

If you think of these kinds of games like eating potato chips, then this one is like eating stale potato chips, there might still be some enjoyment in it, but you would still rather be eating fresh potato chips over this.
