Loot Box Quest is a satirical clicker that mocks industry monetization practices while you endlessly tap for bigger numbers. The game progresses through a story arc where your protagonist gradually accepts the predatory mechanics they initially despise, accompanied by multiple music tracks and barbed commentary on modern gaming. Its appeal lies in the irony and humor rather than complex systems, making it ideal for players who appreciate industry critique wrapped in self-aware, low-stakes gameplay.
About this game
The spiritual successor to DLC Quest! Earn that sense of pride and accomplishment in the way that only repetitive clicking can deliver. It's a clicker game, so chill out, have a few chuckles, and watch numbers get bigger while the industry burns around us all.

Already 2 hours in, enjoying it. This game is 1000% worth the price. What made me write this video though is a message that popped up while I was playing.
The dev pops up a message when you're approaching the 2 hour mark. He let's you know you're approaching that mark, in case you wanted a refund. For the game that he spent probably more time on than he wants to admit, and charges $.99 for.
This is what games should be. Someone's passion to give people enjoyment. In today's AAA and microtransaction market where gamers are just numbers to be exploited, not only does Ben call them out in his game, he puts them to shame with his actions.
I definitely will not be refunding, and will be looking out for what Ben does next, as he deserves the money he is getting for his game, and probably a lot more. He represents what gaming has lost.
I like how ironic the game is, you start of as someone who cares for games and dislikes transactions and eventually as the game continues, you slowly become the thing you hate. There are almost no idle games that have a story, so it's nice to see one that does. Overall the game isn't that bad and the music not being the same track over and over as there are at least four different music soundtracks makes this a game worth buying.
The only problems I can think of would be that there's no x100 for the Game Studio jobs and that it's possible to miss the release X amount of games achievements.
I feel like clicker games should either have attractive graphics, complex systems or be funny. This is one of the funny ones. It looks and plays like a basic clicker game but it has amusing barbed comments about the video game industry. Unlike many other clicker games it also has no premium currencies or anything of the sort. Interestingly, after the 90 minute mark you get a message reminding you're still eligible for a refund if you feel like the experience wasn't worth that one dollar you spend. That's one honest dev right there.
