Galactic Overthrow is Out Now!

I want to extend a huge thanks to everyone for their feedback and support through all of the playtesting phases. I'm so I'm excited for the release of Galactic Overthrow to finally be here and to share it with you. What started as a rough idea for a simplified 4x-lite, to evolving into what plays a bit like a real-time board game, I love where this game has ended up.The 1.0 release represents the conclusion of the original scoped game and design, a 4x like experience that delivers the feel of grand strategy games but tailored to a shorter and 'lower stakes' campaign and setting. This however does not mean it's the end of development on the game, but a little more on that later.I'm looking forward to getting this game in the hands of more players, hearing all about your experiences along with your thoughts and feedback. So as always with all my games, reach out on any of the socials or forums to chat more about it!Upcoming Short Term PlansI can't guarantee specific timelines on the current post-release plans on the game, as the next few weeks will have to remain pretty dynamic based on bugs and other emergent concerns (plus maybe a little bit of rest).That being said, I have a rough post-release plan of support to share:Weeks 1 to 3 - Bugs, feedback, QoL improvements and other minor fixes: Looking to add improvements to the game without destabilizing release and giving everyone a chance to play in it's 1.0 stateMonths 1 to 2 - Planned content updates: Additional Faction(s), more configurable risk options like Space Pirate attacks and hostile planets that are more proactive. Where is the UPDATE?!!!

Where is the UPDATE?!!! Don't worry, the update is coming! It will arrive in the next week, or the week after (so max 2 weeks from now). Why the delay? I took the month of April to work on another game and take some time off from this project. After 3 months of non-stop development, I realized I was making more mistakes than actual improvements. Stepping back for a moment was necessary to come back stronger. What's changing? The major changes are related to: Overall balance adjustmentsBetter game performanceAdjust most (if not all) side mechanicsA much-improved UIimprovement to the tutorial pahse The work left to do is pretty minor compared to the work already done, but it is still very important to get right before release. 1.12 - UI Improvements, Crafting Animations, and SFX Normalization

Happy Friday Alchemists!The work continues and I have more updates! All the sound effects were adjusted and the volumes should all be normalized now. Some of them were quite loud and I didn't realize until I played with headphones, so thanks for letting me know!In addition to some UI improvements I've added a cool animation for the crafting station. Visual: Improved the crafting visuals. The crafted items are now visible and animated above the cauldron after each craft, giving it a little extra juice!QoL: Added a new dialog sprout explaining the talent treeUI: Further readability improvements on shop UI panels.UI: Added tooltips to upgrade icons.Balance: Objective rewards have been increased so they are more meaningful.Fully normalized all of the SFX volumes. QoL: Added a decoration stat panel that can be toggled in the shop with the quill button in the top right corner. This will make it easier to see all the current bonuses from the decorations on display (Thanks @Mr Moyer).UI: Improved the readability of some of the UI pages with better colors (Thanks @Mr Moyer).UI: Enlarged the size of the minimize button on the objective panel so it's easier to press.
