Version 1.0.3 is live! A ton of changes, including some major ones:The game's progress speed has been drastically increased and now requires way less maintenance from the player.Major mechanics changes:The Orb puzzle's bonuses are now permanent. All three effects scale with the total amount of orbs destroyed in the playthrough. The Wire puzzle no longer randomly changes over time and opens the maximum current amount of slots much more quickly; it also has a free option of rerolling it completely straight from the puzzle's screen. The puzzle is still reset upon reopening the game due to some technical issues with preserving it in a save - will likely be implemented in a later patch. Sorry!Introduced a new upgrade called Patrol Protocol which allows your Heroes to move on their own. Every couple of seconds all of your Heroes, if they're not currently engaged in combat, will move down a floor, looping back to floor 1 if they reach the bottom. When moving in this manner, they will also collect resources and teleport to enemies within the range that their upgrades allow. This allows for a way more idle gameplay the deeper you are into the game.A lot of rebalance and graphical improvements:Heroes' portraits now have a mild idle animationHeroes standing outside of combat now have a mild idle animationInori gained a couple of new regular messages regarding upgrades. She also started to mention her name from time to time after that one incident of someone calling her Inari. How rude!Monster spawns are now more frequent and monsters are slower on average - this is to allow for utilizing the Monster amount upgrade properly. Previously, it was next to impossible to spawn the maximum amount of Monsters simultaneously. The amount of Monsters was also slightly increased.Total amount of Orbs can now be seen in the Orb Puzzle screenOrbs puzzle Heroes' dps now decays slowerMoney gained from Monsters is now slightly higherResources types per Floor have been moved slightly earlier, arou...

The Encyclopedia is now a single window that comes to the front when you reopen it.Fixed meal buffs (ATK / Magic ATK) that were not actually applied. The attack and magic-attack meal buffs granted by tavern techs like "Hearty Meal" were being rounded down to zero internally and did nothing. Fixed combat-log text. English internal names (awakening skill names, battle results) that leaked into the Japanese UI now display correctly.Injuries from retreats and victories now appear in the clinic. Fixed a mismatch where the combat log said \ but the clinic showed no one injured. Knocked-out adventurers are now properly marked injured even on a retreat or victory, and can be treated at the clinic.Added "Forge Expansion" to the tech tree. Auto-forge can now craft several items at once (a repeatable unlock raises the count) — this helps with material overflow and empty shelves.Repeatable techs are now easy to spot. Tech nodes you can unlock again and again (Forge Expansion, Large Warehouse, etc.) now show an animated ripple pulsing outward plus an unlock count (Lv), so repeatable upgrades stand out at a glance. Thanks as always for playing Ultimate Blacksmith Tycoon — please keep the reports and requests coming!

We may adjust this again in the future based on the game environment and player feedback.Dungeon rewards will be greatly increased, allowing players to obtain more resources through normal gameplay. The event will be temporarily closed and may return later after further adjustments. The market has been reopened.Thank you for your understanding and support. We will continue improving the game environment and do our best to reduce the impact of abnormal issues on regular players.
My development style is very much lean, agile. When ever I introduce a new system I aim to only delivery the most minimum version of it I can think of and don't try to over plan it. Then I observe, receive feedback and adjust, expand or retreat based on what I learn. I try to have as a rapid feedback and iteration loops as possible to get to the best system as fast as possible, though sometimes this means starting with pretty simple systems. This is why you see me patch multiple times a week and hopefully the game is always improving. This was certainly the case with the new Crucible mechanics which is currently at its inception stage and was also the case with the AI navigation. The AI navigation operates in three modes: Seek target - Ship is safe and has nothing to shoot at. So let's find something. Shoot - There is a target in range, kill it. Evade - Something is threatening the ship, find safety. I have spent 80% of my AI focus on the Evade portion which was the most essential and most complicated system. But I've gotten some really great player feedback which has pushed me towards reviewing Seek TargetAI which was still it its most simple initial revision and a bit glaringly bad. The Seek Target is now aware of the ships upgraded thrust and rotate capabilities as well as its gunnery skills and will also take into account the heading and velocity of asteroids so that it will try to avoid crashing into its targets at full speed. This should both make the early rounds where there a few asteroids a bit more active and well as increase the importance of the afterburner and gyro drive upgrades in the early rounds. Release Notes New 9 new achievements Improved When the ship is safe and looking for a target, the AI Navigation will now use the full thrust that the ship is capable of to move to within bullet range of the target. Description fixes in the UI.
The update updates are finally ready! Here's the catch up notes including all updates since v2.26.0. New features Display Settings panel. A new panel in the top bar lets you switch skill task cards between a full-row list view and the classic tiled grid. Your preference saves automatically. (v2.27.0) Improvements Quest completion stamp. Completed quests now show a stamp badge in the corner. Hover it to see the exact date you finished the quest. Completed timed quests no longer show an expired countdown beside the stamp. (v2.27.0) Boss intros no longer stall dungeon runs. If you step away during a dungeon run, boss intro dialogue now closes on its own after 10 seconds. The Continue button shows a countdown before it closes. (v2.28.0) Quest tracker cleanup. Long quest names in the top bar tracker now shorten cleanly with an ellipsis instead of spilling out of the tracker. (v2.28.0) Bug fixes Inscription and Alteration now show all equipment. A large batch of gear was missing from these menus, including Dungeon Forge drops, leather armor, robes, off-class shields, and boss-drop jewelry such as the Heartwood Ring and Alpha Fang Amulet. These items now appear correctly and can be inscribed or altered. (v2.28.0) Timed quest duplicate rewards fixed. Completing the same timed quest more than once before it refreshed could award extra rewards. Only the first completion now counts. (v2.28.0) Queued dungeon run counts now carry over. Using the play button to promote a queued dungeon run was dropping the remaining run count, causing only one run to start instead of the full amount. The remaining count is now preserved. (v2.28.0) Breeding minigame countdown fixed. The second round of the breeding minigame could sometimes start two 3-2-1-GO! countdowns at the same time. This no longer happens. (v2.28.0) Socketed gems now survive rebirth correctly. Gems socketed into equipped rings or amulets were being lost after rebirth. The jewelry survived through Warehouse protection, but the...

Hey everyone, First off, thank you. The game has grown way beyond what I ever expected, and everyone who has purchased it has genuinely helped make one of my dreams come true. Seeing people play something I made has been unreal, and I’m extremely grateful for the support, feedback, bug reports, and patience so far. That said, there are a few important things I want to address. AI Accusations I’ve seen a handful of accusations that the game, especially the UI, was made using AI. I want to be very clear: that is not true. The UI, code, art, and design were made by me. I have a background in web design and web development, which likely explains why the UI has the style it does. I completely understand why people are cautious about AI-generated games right now, but in this case, the accusation is false. I honestly thought the UI turned out pretty well, but I also know it can be improved, and I’ll continue improving it over time. Steam also requires developers to disclose AI-generated content during submission. This game was not submitted or flagged as an AI-generated game because it is not one. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/gettingstarted/contentsurvey Performance Issues I’m aware that some players are having serious performance issues, and I’m actively working on fixing them. I’m a solo developer, and this is my first game, so there are going to be bugs, edge cases, and performance problems I was not able to catch before launch. I don’t have a team of people testing the game across a wide variety of machines, so some issues only started showing up once the game reached a larger audience. That is not the experience I want people to have. Right now, it looks like the game may be putting excessive load on some users’ CPUs because it is failing to detect and use their dedicated GPU correctly. When that happens, the game may fall back to integrated graphics if available, which can cause unusually high CPU usage, poor performance, or high temperatures. A hotfix for this...
