BreakEven - Idle Patch 0.1.6

Patch Notes v0.1.6 · A Shared Chest for all your heroes Dear Adventurers, Six days of work in one build. Your heroes share a chest at last, every locked system tells you how to open it, the loot filter became a rulebook, and a Tyrant hunt no longer pays a hundred times what the Void pays. Underneath, all twenty-nine monsters and the Darkness were rebuilt, and a handful of long-standing bugs from your reports are gone. New Content A Shared Chest for all your heroes. 600 slots on the Inventory tab, owned by your account and carried by the Steam Cloud. Click or drag to store, click or drag to take back, and nothing inside is ever auto-sold. Every hero earns the key by slaying the Golem in the Coast, and a hero may only take out what their own zones would drop. Locked systems are visible now and say what opens them. Stronghold, Apocalypse, Ancient Stash, The Void, Theorycraft, Test build and Contraband show a lock, the condition, and a taste of what waits behind it. Loadout slots two and three are trophies for your first Tyrant and your first Ordeal tier. Contraband opens earlier. After the blacksmith's commission and a single wager instead of three. The Fence's Case unlocks with the alchemist's wager. The loot filter is a rulebook. Filter and Auto-Sell share one card. Any filter becomes a Sell or Keep rule, rules can be paused or deleted, and the export code carries all of it. Set pieces got their own rarity threshold, and new Runes arrive locked. Resources on the Inventory tab. Spoils, Powders, Marks and Skulls with their stock, and hovering tells you where each one comes from. Auto-Hunt for the Tyrants. With the switch on, a won hunt starts the next one, and the hunt keeps going while you are away. The Welcome Back card reports the night, and says why if your hero fell. The Glassworks and the Athanor work while you are away. Every save gets a base share, and the upgrades raise it from there instead of gating it. Blacksmith commissions in bulk. 1, 5, 10 or 25 at a tim...

09/01 - Patch Notes -Build 0.751

Build 0.751 Patch Notes Expedition Encounters - Removed the unintended authored single-enemy encounters from all eight expeditions. - Former singleton locations now generate normal roaming packs of 2–5 enemies using each expedition’s regular encounter pool. - Seven expeditions now support 150 roaming-pack locations. The smaller Sable Writ Isles retains 132. - Roaming packs continue to have independent chances to become roaming bosses or Guardians. - Fixed authored bosses and fixed Guardian encounters remain in their intended locations. - Individual enemies may still appear naturally when they are the last survivor of a larger pack. - Existing campaign saves automatically migrate to the updated encounter layouts while preserving defeated enemies, health, respawn progress, opened chests, loot, resources, pets, summons, and exploration progress. Greenveil Frontier - Corrected the reversed stairs on the eastern side of the Chorus Lake causeway. - Added two normal roaming-pack locations to the causeway. - Moved the Drowned Cache chest to the middle of the bridge. - Preserved the bridge’s traversable route, surrounding water, and existing terrain. Glassmoon Memorial Reach - Added one dramatic large dry crater and four smaller dry craters. - Craters now have visible raised banks and blocked centers, helping parties recognize that they should travel around them. - Connected the four Candle Ward roads into one proper, walkable intersection. - Moved the Pressure Dock gate out of the road. - Added collision matching the visible sides of the Pressure Dock gate while preserving a traversable center aisle. - Preserved existing campaign progress when migrating to the revised Glassmoon terrain. Cradle Drift And Asterhome - Crop beds now follow the ground instead of standing upright like ordinary scenery sprites. - Corrected all 48 Cradle Drift crop placements and all 32 Asterhome crop placements. - Preserved the existing crop artwork, fields, identities, and harvesting locations. -...

Thank you everyone ❤️

Wow, what an amazing week it's been! Thank you so much to everyone playing Sludgineers, posting reviews, streaming and making content, submitting bug reports, feedback and all the super cool ideas - we really appreciate all of it ❤️The reception has been amazing for our small 2 person team from New Zealand, reaching over 55,000 Unit Sales in just the first week of launch, and over 1,000 Very Positive Reviews! We've delivered two key patch updates, covering late game grind, performance, critical bugs and further balance improvements, with a third patch on it's way very soon to fix an array of miscellaneous bugs, with some improvements and additions based on suggestions from the community. So what's next?To be honest, we feel we can improve the end game fun and replay-ability, it was lacking and we acknowledge that - so it will be the focus first. In processing everyone's feedback and with some initial design discussions, we are currently considering new 'Challenge / Modifier Mode' type mechanics. We haven't locked down all the details, in fact we've only had a few short conversations in-between all the patch updates, but the loose overview would be something like this; After finishing the final level (no spoilers) you get New Challenges / Modifiers to complete per level - making levels Different & More Varied, in return for Higher & More Interesting Rewards.Part of the formula for us in considering future updates is how 'content heavy' they are. Things like new levels, new pollution types and tools, new biomes etc are very content heavy, and so will take a lot longer to produce. Our strategy is to try to get updates out within a reasonable time frame initially, then slowly scale them up into the more meaningful content heavy updates in the future. The caveat here is, this is all currently theory, and we will be continuing to listen to the community and adjust accordingly to give you what you want, in a way that we think is also best for the game. Our design board is fil...

New Prestige Weapons !!

✨ Prestige Weapons Every weapon in the Black Market now has a Prestige version — a gold-plated upgrade for hackers who have outgrown their arsenal. Prestige weapons are a serious investment. They cost far more than the original weapon, but they hit on a completely different scale. All 11 weapons have a Prestige version 25× packet damage compared to the standard version Identical RAM cost — a Prestige weapon takes up exactly the same slot space as its normal counterpart Prestige pricing runs from 200B for the Ping Package up to 25Qa for Man In The Middle 🔓 How It Works Buy a weapon in the Black Market as usual. Once it is unlocked, its card offers Upgrade to Prestige — pay the price and the weapon is permanently upgraded for the rest of your run. Like every other Black Market unlock, Prestige upgrades reset on Rebuild. 🏆 Gold Across the Whole Interface A Prestige weapon looks the part everywhere it appears — packets fly with an animated gold shader, and every icon that represents the weapon turns gold with it. Animated gold shader on packets — hatching, shimmer sweep and edge glow Gold icons in the Black Market, Active Payloads and the Statistics panel Weapon names carry a tag Each weapon keeps its own hatch pattern in gold, so they stay easy to tell apart 💥 Reworked Special Effects Weapons with unique mechanics get their signature effects recolored in Prestige: EMP Burst — the blue detonation blast now erupts in gold Zero Day Exploit — the red instability flicker turns gold-yellow Worm Payload — the chain lightning arcs in gold Man In The Middle — the rotating lasers burn amber-gold 🌍 Localization All new Prestige text is fully translated into every supported language. Prestige weapons are built as a late-run power spike — something to aim for once your Data income can carry it. Let us know on the Steam Community page how they feel in your builds. 🎮

New update

Arrivals you can't miss Your train used to arrive in complete silence. If you were working in another window — which is rather the point of the game — nothing told you the trip was done, and the fare just sat there uncollected. A COLLECT banner now appears on the strip when your train pulls in, showing the destination and what the run earned. Click it to open your ticket. The game nudges you when a train arrives, so you can go back to whatever you were actually doing until it does. Opening the menu with a fare waiting takes you straight to the ticket instead of wherever you happened to leave it. Learning how you get paid A completed journey pays nothing until you collect the fare, and the game never actually said so. New drivers now get told, once, on their first arrival. "Engines for sale" no longer sits there empty Each town sells its own small range of locomotives, and once you owned all of them that section simply went blank — with no explanation, forever. It looked broken. It wasn't, but you had no way to know that. The shop now tells you when you own everything the town sells, and names the towns that still have engines you don't own. The Restock button has moved to the "Cars for sale" heading and been relabelled. It only ever affected the car lineup — never engines — so it no longer sits above the engine list implying otherwise. Thanks to to.koryo for reporting the empty shop, and to Waldi for the locomotive achievement thread that started it. Fixes Fixed a bug where quitting partway through the tutorial could permanently disable it, leaving new drivers with no guidance and no way to get it back. The arrival notice pointed at the wrong screen. It now points at the Trip tab, where your ticket actually is.

Major Update v0.20260902.2 — Hunting Assistants, Workspace UI & Steam Transfers

Based on the feedback we have received since the official launch, we have made broad improvements across the game, focusing especially on navigation issues such as not knowing what to do next or how to reach the screen you need. This update introduces new hunting assistants, a redesigned workspace UI, clearer quest and crafting guidance, combat balance adjustments, and more reliable Steam Inventory transfers. Hunting Assistants Added Added Hunting Assistants that can remain on your desktop. Choose from 30 assistants with different personalities and roles. Search in everyday language with requests such as “What should I do now?”, “I want to craft equipment,” or “Take me to the Market.” Aliases and wording variations are supported, so you do not need to know the exact name of a screen. Assistants use your current AR, equipment, craftable items, and open windows to suggest what to do next. Opening the Workshop, Farm, Quest, or another screen now triggers guidance relevant to that screen. You can switch between desktop display, pinning, character selection, and hidden mode at any time. Search using everyday language and jump directly to the screen you need. Choose the character you like from 30 hunting assistants. Workspace UI Redesign Grouped the main bar into Equipment and Crafting/Facilities, making major features easier to access on narrower displays. Open windows, minimized windows, and panels available to add can now be managed from a single list. Fixed an issue where the Add Panel button could be pushed out of view by other controls. Notifications from grouped screens such as the Farm and Quests are now summarized on the main bar. Fixed language and other dropdown menus appearing behind hunting or sub-windows. Adjusted main-bar widths to reduce truncated labels in Japanese, English, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Reworked mouse-wheel handling, scroll-target detection, and window layering. Improved line wrapping, truncated text, and clipped b...

Multi-Hero Accounts Available to Everyone Soon

The game’s 10th Kongivesary is almost here, and Sardinex has plenty of fun surprises planned to celebrate this milestone with all the Heroes who made it possible. There is also a major change coming to the game that we are previewing here today.Until now, Bit Heroes has only allowed one hero per account. NFT Heroes introduced the ability for one account to have multiple heroes, but the limited availability of these heroes has meant only a portion of our playerbase has been able to enjoy the convenience. Originally, this was one of the perks to owning one of these special Heroes, but over time, it has made less-and-less sense to restrict this functionality.Bit Heroes is a long game with an even longer history. It is common for returning players to want to reset their progress to face an easier challenge, for long-time players to want to create a new hero to re-experience the early game, and even for new players to want an early reset after learning ropes. By providing multi-hero accounts to everyone, these all become options that don’t require deleting existing hero data to accomplish. Also, these new heroes will start with full access to your playerbound items giving them a head start on their new adventure.New hero slots will be purchased with gems. When the feature is released, you will be able to buy up four additional hero slots. The first slot will unlock when you finish Zone 3 and it will cost 5000 Gems. After that, there will be new slots available after finishing Zone 7, Zone 14, and Zone 20. These slots will cost 7500, 10,000, and 12,500 Gems respectively and each requires that all previous slots have also been purchased. Once you have purchased a new hero slot, you’ll be able to access and manage your heroes from the same menu that NFT heroes use currently. For those of you who already own an NFT hero, the benefit you’ll retain is that you can have as many additional heroes as you own NFTs. You won’t need to purchase hero slots as you add NFT heroes to you...

v1.6.6 - the full character sheet, and the road ahead for lowmoor and next game

And here we are at 1.6.6. It is closer to 1.7.0 now than to 1.6.0. Today's notes are all about showing you your own numbers clearly, because until now they were scattered all over the game and there was no simple way to check them. At the end I also lay out where Lowmoor goes next, especially 1.7.0, and I finally talk about another project I have been building for a while. Every figure on your sheet, itemised by sourceOn character sheet - you can check every detail of your characterYour points, on one panelThe Upgrades window has a summary panel: points spent, points in hand, how far the next point is, what a reset would cost, the columns your points went to and everything in detail. A long return shows its workComing back after hours away is tens of thousands of turns of the engine, and it used to run in one run: the browser painted nothing until it finished and the app showed no window at all, which reads as a game that has freeze. Anything over a minute now runs a helping at a time, behind a bar that names what the absence bought. Fixes The Unmoved now caps every blow a beast lands at 10% of your HP, as the card says. It used to work only on the road, against traps and travel events, never in fights. The cap now covers grave wounds too, so a natural 20 cannot take you out while sworn. The fight log now names the cap where it holds. Watchhouse stages now show on the Spot row at once, not at the next quest. The Foundry bonus applied from purchase, but its display was late. Fixed. Endowing the Foundry now updates forge odds while the Armoury is open. The Statistics speed ledger read a hold as a boon. It now names the mark and its minus. A save taken mid catch-up now owes you the rest of your time away instead of losing it. Eleven more terms in the Glossary: the Papers, the body, the well, a leg of the road. 1.7.0: Road Events and Fates1.7.0 is all about road events and fates, and fates themselves get a revamp. I want the choices to matter more and to feel varied for...
