You gave your feedback and we listened! The number one negative feedback so far has been how big of a setback doing your first Reality Shatter is. To fix this, we have changed the reset to preserve the Drone Hub and the Quarry Foreman. The Drone Hub will still have its upgrade levels reset, but the Quarry Foreman will have all its upgrade levels retained so that you won't lose any of the automation you built up! Another common piece of negative feedback has been that the prestige upgrades weren't powerful enough at first, so they are getting a buff! Reality Shatter ChangesDrone Hub now stays unlocked across Reality Shatter, and your configured drone rules are preserved; Drone upgrade levels still reset, but Drone Core earnings resume immediately instead of requiring the Quartz upgradeQuarry Foreman now fully persists across Reality Shatter, retaining all upgrade levels and automation settingsRemoved the Persistent Hub, Persistent Foreman, and Foreman Memory Reality Shatter upgrades since they are now redundantIf you have already done at least one Reality Shatter before this update, your Drone Hub and Quarry Foreman will be re-unlocked on load. We have officially identified and obliterated the issue that was causing the "Progression Block" at the Obelisk.The Obelisk should now correctly accept your hard-earned Devotion Orbs, and your save files should be safe to continue. If you've been holding off on playing, the "All Clear" is officially given....it's time to get back to devoting yourselves to the ORB!While we were messing around with the Quackpot, we didn't just fix the progression block; we decided to fix up a whole bunch of other issues we were made aware of. What's been fixed & improved: The Obelisk Lock & Saves: You know that stubborn and annoying complete progression block? YEETED! Your devotion to the Orb will now be recognized. If the issue persists, please quit out of the game and load back it, it should auto-complete the obelisk allowing you to continue. Late-Game Performance: We've optimized resource animations in all areas of the game. It’s sitting at about a 60% improvement in frame rates! While not perfect yet, it should be far more playable in the chaotic late-game now.VAT Upgrades: We've reduced the cost of the Knowledge Vat upgrade from 500k to 450k Duck Coins to ensure players don't hit a gold coin softlock.Achievement Sync & Safety Nets: We’ve added a new checking method to hopefully grant you any achievements you’ve earned in-game that Steam might have missed. Additionally, we've implemented "safety nets" for the 50 Ducks and Resonance Crystal achievements to help them track properly. Hey everyone!🛠️ Before we get started, I'd like to note that as the features in this update change quite a few things, not all the mechanics are yet fully realized, and are bound to change based on player feedback from this initial version. I figured better to put it out there are hone it further in upcoming updates.Now let's get to it!Lost and Rightful Territories 📜💪Previously, occupations happened whenever land was conquered during wars. It didn't matter who held it at the beginning.For example, France occupied parts of Germany, and then they pushed them back, Germany's reclaimed losses would show as occupied by Germany. But no more!Now, the original (or rightful) owner of land is remembered, so now if during the war the attacker is pushed back, the reclaimed territory will show as normal. Hurray!But that's only the beginning...Now, when the war ends, and one side loses land, it still remembers it belonged to them. This will now be shown as occupied land permanently, until it is reclaimed back, or the occupier integrates it to themselves, making them its rightful owner.The pattern is a bit different for land where the rightful owner is currently peaceful or dead, like Poland below as it dies during the war.Having occupied territory does not have any negative effects for the occupier. Integrating them costs gold, and integrations are done per occupied nation.Even if a nation dies completely, it still has a memory of its original land. If they revolt, they will now gain back land based on those original tiles, resulting in even more accurate revolt borders! Unless the occupier has integrated them of course.This mechanic could be a big game changer, maybe even more so in the future. We'll see...Customizing the experience ⚙️Since this is quite a big change, and introduces some "noise" to the map, which some people might not like, I've added some ways to customize how this system works. CRITICAL UPDATE: Hi Devotees, N7_Maxxi here.We are currently working through some technical hurdles following a hotfix pushed earlier today. To try and keep things running smoothly, we have rolled the game files back to the previous version (Build 22865027). Who might be affected? This situation likely only involves players who interacted with the game while the "Hotfix 1" version was live (roughly the last 6 hours). If you haven't played today, you should be completely fine! The Current Situation: For those who updated or downloaded the game today, there is a chance you may encounter a progression lock where you can no longer feed the Obelisk, or the Obelisk doesn't accept any more devotion orbs despite requiring more to proceed.Sadly, it seems simply rolling back to the previous build did not resolve this issue for everyone. As far as we can tell, not even fully clearing save/user data fixes this bug. So if you encounter this issue while further into the game, please do not delete your save data, as there is no promise it will solve the problem. Our Advice: While we can't offer a fix right away, here are some things to be mindful of and to check before proceeding:Check your Build: You should check that you are on Build 22865027. A quick Steam restart or "Verify Integrity of Game Files" usually handles this.Be Mindful: If you played during that 6-hour window, you might want to be a little cautious. If you notice things aren't progressing as they should, it may be worth pausing that save for a little bit.Wait for the Update: We’ve seen some of you successfully using manual edits to get past the block. Hey everyone,Quick warning: this one is a big one. Not in "new content" size, but in "stuff that was quietly broken and is now fixed" size. I spent a few weeks rewriting the parts of the code I'd been avoiding, and a few of the bugs I found along the way made me laugh out loud.The big one: for as long as DriveWave has existed, car colors have been applied wrong. You'd pick a red paint, the save would store red, the UI would say red, and the car would spawn... the first color in the list. Every single time. Turns out there was a = 0 sitting right on top of the saved index, overwriting it before it could do anything. Your saved colors have been sitting there this whole time. They finally come out now.🎨 Paint & wheelsCar color and vinyl finally respect the saved index. Your previously-picked paint is already there, it just couldn't come out to play.Rim and wheel customization now applies in driving mode (it was being destroyed on spawn and never rebuilt).Rims and wheels also sync to cars parked in car lots, so the ones around the map match what you own.Garage UI re-syncs when another context changes a color/vinyl, no more stale "5/10" text.🏁 Driving feelNew Initial D / Underground 2 style chase camera. Smoother peek on turns, no more discrete snap when the yaw crosses a threshold.Visual weight transfer. Cars dive under braking and squat under throttle, scaled to how fast the car actually is.Launch grace for slow cars.
