A new version of Magic Research 2, version 1.8.2, is now out for everyone. This update introduces a title screen and the capability to have multiple save slots. If you are able to code, you can create mods that change various aspects of the game, add content, and so on. There is an SDK available. It is still extremely early, so I'm still working on the development experience, both by improving the documentation and by making the SDK better overall. Steam Workshop integration is planned, but it still needs some more work and testing.
Hey everyone, Thanks so much for sharing all the feedback about the game. We're thrilled that so many people are excited about the game and that the reviews have been so positive. So release has been a resounding success, there have been some technical glitches but we've been hard at work at addition more options, squashing bugs that have cropped up and giving you greater flexibility with how you get productive. Here's a list of the fixes and changes we've added to the game. FIXES Restored saving to key bits of the UI such as the clock, train speed, and other options you tweak while playing. Achievements should be working correctly. One achievement was having issues firing off correctly but that's been clarified so let us know if you aren't getting it. Fixed trees clipping into the train car Water rendering correctly in Meadows Added button clicks to buttons that were missing them ADDITIONS Added V-Sync New Quality levels so you can tailor your performance Added the ability to have windowed mode or full screen Added ability to resolution change Updated train max speed (Gotta go fast) New option in the pause menu to reverse the direction of the train Please be sure to leave a review on the game, that helps others find the game! Today I found out the game had a memory leak that while small, it aggregated over time each time you click the avocado. This release is primarily to patch that. But here are some other additions as a consolation prize. :) - A clicks per second counter has been added, you can hide it in the options menu if you don't like it. - changed the counter font. - made title in Guacamole Labs more readable. - All of your color choices in the options menu are now saved upon closing. - Your currently selected avocado is saved upon closing as well. - You can now change the counter font color in the options menu. I have been working on a new big feature that will be ready in the next couple of days. Discovering the memory made it pretty urgent for me to push out this update in the short term though.
I noticed that items were being generated on the market yesterday that have names prefixed with the word "Unique". Avocados with this naming bug can no longer be generated.
Added undo/redo functionality. The undo history size is 1000 actions.

We would like to tell you more about hatchlings and how the eggs and drop rates work. Hatchlings Hatchlings are the main collectible element of our game. You can find your hatchling collection in the steam inventory and trade it with other players on the community market. The main goal of the game is to collect all the hatchlings. There are currently 100 hatchlings of different rarities, each with their unique look and a short little story. Try to hatch em all! Note: We might add more hatchlings into the collection in future events and updates, however the core collection will always consist of these 100 hatchlings. Eggs Eggs come in different rarities and serve as a consumable item. You can exchange 10 eggs of the same rarity for a random hatchling of said rarity. This way you can finish your collection faster and uncover the rare ones! Note: this feature is not yet implemented in the game and will come in the very near future with future updates. You can fill your pockets with eggs now and be prepared for later use when this feature is released. Drop rates: The drop rates are as followed: First there is a 75% vs 25% chance to drop an egg or a hatchling, with egg having the bigger chance to drop. If an egg is being dropped, the chances are: 64% for a common egg 21% for an uncommon egg 10% for a rare egg 4% for an epic egg 1% for a legendary egg If a hatchling is being dropped, the chances are: 64% for a common hatchling 21% for an uncommon hatchling 10% for a rare hatchling 4% for an epic hatchling 1% for a legendary hatchling We hope this explains the system behind the drops.
