A few "secrets" to thank you!

I can't describe how grateful I am to see so many people playing my game for hours and even finishing it! I was not expecting such a positive reception when I released the game 2 weeks ago.Thank you also for all the great feedback, especially regarding quality-of-life improvements. I'm hoping to release a first patch soon with a few of these changes.While waiting for the 1st QoL patch, here are a few (not-so-)secret features you may have missed:You can swipe-buy squares of the board! Simply hold LMB to buy a square, then drag across adjacent squares as if you were drawing on the boardYou can press B (on keyboard) to randomly change the color of the board if you don't like the current oneYou can change the transparency of the rice grains in the settings (can be helpful to keep the board visible near the end of the game!)There is a fantastic guide to solving the riddle of the demo if you played it, feel free to check it out in the Community hub!Thanks again, I'm delighted to see so many people enjoying my game, I hope you keep having fun with it!Oh, and feel free to post screenshots of your best configurations for maximum production per cycle! HOTFIX: Old saves conflict fix

Greetings Buttoneers!First of all, I'm sorry to inform you that the content update had a small issue for users who wanted to use the 'Continue' button within the main menu.After the update, the users who picked "Continue" from the main menu, ended up to Gnome Wood -level, which had some of the features available that were supposed to be only within the new world (Kings Button).This update will fix the issue for the users who use the continue button from this point on. Users who has already used the continue button, see information below:Your prestige progress is saved (Game currently features 4 playthrough prestige upgrades)If you have not yet completed the Gnome Wood level 4 times, you should now do that through the 'New Game' button and by selecting Gnome Wood.The amount of prestiges you've completed so far, is saved and will not be wiped if you select the new game (Only way to wipe the prestiges is to use the reset data in the menu)You can use the 'New Game' button in the menu which will take you to world selection screenIf you already used the 'Continue' button after the update, unfortunately that caused the game to start the Gnome Wood level (your previous save) with SOME of the features that were supposed to be only in the Kings Button level.(Your game will look like this, if you've pressed the continue button after the update. The powerups will spawn, but there is no powerup user interface in the left bottom corner. So, here it is!Nerfed Auto CollectorsAuto collectors used to simply collect resources and store them in any storage unit. Some people brought this up in Steam Discussions, and even I thought this was pretty goofy to do this, but didn't have time to change it before release. Now how auto collectors work is they will only auto collect resources for storage units that are connected to the auto collector, or each other, as long as they continue to be the same resource type. So, if it's a wood collector and it has a wood storage next to it, and if that wood storage unit had another wood storage connected to it, then it will auto collect for those two storage units. If there is a non wood storage unit at any point it will break the chain and anything beyond that will not auto collect.Curved Storage Tracks!This feature has also been requested by several people. With the change to auto collectors, this seemed like an obvious next addition. You will also be able to have fabricators in much tighter areas without running out of room to place storage units...

New Experimental Changes to Game Modes

Hey everyone, I'm currently testing out a change to how game modes work in the game. The "passive mode" setting is still going to be the default for new players, so there shouldn't be a change for anyone onboarding in the game. But if you've played already and are looking for a little more challenge or changes to how the game works, read on!Game ModesIn the game settings ('game settings' button on faction select for a new game), I've changed the 'Passive Mode: On/Off" button to be a game mode button with three options now.Passive:- This is still the default, hostile planets don't attack you, plays more like an idle game. You can walk away any time without pausing and there's no risk to your progressActive:- Hostile planets have their original attack timers that slowly tick up, and will attack an adjacent (non-home) planet and flip it to hostile. This works the same as before but the strength of the planet remaining will be about 1/3rd of the attacking planet which was originally bugged and only being set to 2 regardless of attackChallenge:- Some players have requested something a bit more challenging out of active mode. This setting is experimental right now and likely to change (along with some new UI to better explain modes coming soon). Details below.What is Challenge Mode?Challenge mode is basically the same as Active mode with two key changes. "Auto Explore" automation is on by default and cannot be toggled off once automation is available to the player. This means turtling and building fleet with no hostiles on board is much harder to do, there will almost always be hostiles preparing attacks... unless you strategically enclose your empire, which felt like fun emergent gameplay so it's staying for now.Additionally, every galactic jump increases the speed with which hostile planets will attack you. The level of difficulty is probably still a bit too low for seasoned players, but I'll be making some changes to how new games are configured (with a new game settin...

CubeFoundry — v1.7.0 — The END ? Five weeks (-Ish) of work since 1.6.11. The headline is performance — the game now uses every core your CPU has — but on top of that there's nearly a New game. HighlightsTrue multi-core. Late-game stutter is gone. FPS went from ~7 to 30-50 average; main-thread blocking dropped 87%.Garden minigame. Grow plants, brew potions, spend them on time-skips, tick boosts, and CPS surges.Card system. Each NG+ run draws cards that shake up the rules. OP cards retuned and NG+ scaling now visible at draw time.Cosmic Codex prestige page. Full glass-morphism rewrite, with a cooldown timer, affordable-count badge, and trimmed tooltip animation.Prestige is strategic again. 5-minute cooldown, refunds on reset, and a new power-based award system reward growth, not spam. Performance — True Multi-CoreThe four-phase worker-pool rebuild that gives this update its name. Phase 1 — async/await fix. Workers now actually process tasks (the old fire-and-forget left them idle). FPS jumped immediately.Phase 2 — observability. Per-task-type metrics, queue depth, wait time, 30-second health reports, slow-task detection.Phase 3 — cached automation prep. Upgrade payload now cached and invalidated by purchase count.
