# Session Patch Notes ## Bug Fixes ### Resource panel screen-shake - The world view no longer jitters when knowledge (or any resource) crosses 1,000. - Cause: amount label widened/narrowed each frame as text format changed (e.g. `999.5` → `1000` → `1,000`), pushing the panel wider and shrinking the centered world view. - Fix: amount label now occupies a fixed 160px right-aligned slot with text clipping. `format_number` also rounds near-integers up front, so values like 999.96 don't render as `1000` (no comma) one frame and `1,000` (with comma) the next. ### Population events firing when housing is full - "Wandering stranger" and similar offer events no longer appear when the player can't accept new villagers. - Cause: event filter accepted any event where *any* choice was viable, but decline-fallback choices (empty effects) were always trivially viable, so offer events always fired and the player was forced to manually decline every one. - Fix: filter now ignores empty-effects choices when deciding eligibility — population offers stay out of the rotation until the player has shelter. ### Game-speed scaling inconsistency - 2x and 3x speed now scale resource gathering, combat, and creature behavior to match the simulation clock. - Cause: the central tick loop scaled by `game_speed`, but villagers, creatures, hunter combat cooldowns, arrows, fog reveals, and ambient wildlife all ran on raw real-time delta. At 3x, days raced ahead while income, attacks, and creature pursuit lagged at 1x. - Fix: villager `_process`, grid_entity `_process`, and the gameplay-tick block in settlement_view now scale delta by `GameManager.game_speed`. UI input (arrow-key panning) stays on raw delta. - Also fixes a pre-existing inconsistency where overflow workers (beyond the visual cap) produced at game_speed while visual workers produced at real-time. - Auto-playthrough's `VILLAGER_SPEED_MULT` reduced from 32.0 → 2.3 to compensate for the new native scaling. ## Balance Changes ### Empire age...

MMO98 - Service Pack 1 update

Hi everyone, it's been almost 1 week since we released MMO98, and it hasn't been exactly smooth sailing along the way.However, unlike in-game, we don't just pump and dump games, without looking back and patching them up, so welcome to our first major update, Service Pack 1 (v2026.04.27.1). The full changelog can be found at the bottom of this post. World upgradesPlayers were hitting numbers of in-game playercounts that we didn't foresee during development, which led into issues late-game where your ping would be stuck at 999 since your datacenters couldn't scale far enough. We've now expanded datacenters to have individual, higher capacities, as well as adding the ability to upgrade your existing datacenters as well, allowing you to hit even higher playercounts without incurring a ping limitation. Research storage reworkWe've also reworked the way data storage works. We weren't entirely happy with how you have to spend data to increase your data cap, as this could feel like a "wasted" sequel round. Instead, we've now made it that the data storage cap will automatically increase as you spend your data.On top of that, we've also rebalanced all of our research upgrades in terms of cost, to have a more clear flow. Bombduster changesHaving to beat Expert level Bombduster was a stupid idea, and a mistake from us. We had already decided that the Bombduster Steam achievement would only require you to beat 1 difficulty of Bombduster, however we forgot that completionist required you to get all in-game milestones (which included Advanced/Expert difficulty). Big shout-out to everyone who reported crashes for v1.0; I try to tackle those as soon as possible!CrashesFixed a rare crash when saving, due to attempts to serialize a non-serializable object.Fixed crash due to incorrect text rendering logic for coin slots 4+.Fixed crash when defeating Coinbox levels 10+.Fixed rare upgrader/alchemical crash when a coin tried to upgrade to a coin that didn't exist.Balance ChangesNerfed Lucky coins to +25% bonus-coin chance instead of 50%. Nerfed duration to 8s instead of 10s.Nerfed Royal coins to +25% sell multiplier this simulation.Buffed/fixed Water coins to spawn duplicates when a coin lands on the bonus line.Nerfed grass coins duration slightly, from 6s to 5s.Nerfed DDR5 upgrade to grant 5x bonus-lottery chance, instead of 10x. I've compiled a list of changes here, with more to come over the upcoming days.Patch Notes:Buffed lightning stun duration from 0.2s -> 0.3s.Fixed an issue where multiple moons can be acquired by replaying boss levels in endless mode.Updated moon spawn rate in endless mode from every 5 levels to every 10 levels (this means you will unlock the final moon on level 70, instead of level 40).Fixed an issue where save files were deleted after beating incremental ascension 6, your save file can now stay with you forever if you so choose.The windowed experience should now be better. The game will no longer force update your window size when you start a game.
