Update 0.2.3 is here The timeline just got livelier — and a lot more alive. This update brings big improvements to news reactions, read-aloud, and seasonal events. New News & Reactions NPCs now post their thoughts on recent news. Reactions change based on the news itself (good news vs. bad news) combined with how each NPC feels about the topic. They’ll celebrate good news about a fave, worry over bad news, or smugly say “called it” about something they dislike — full of personality. News can now be quote-reposted, too. Everyday chatter has also been greatly expanded (genre-specific talk, gushing about favorite characters, friends interacting, and more). Read-Aloud Improvements The read-aloud highlight now follows the actual voice much more closely (fixing the line running ahead in Japanese and lagging behind in English). Fixed the headline being read twice during news narration, and the reaction list now displays properly even if you stop playback. Seasonal Events Added & Expanded Added and enhanced special-event posts for Halloween, April Fools’, New Year’s Day, and more. New Player Tutorial/Goals UpdateToday we have launched an overhaul to the tutorial system with the goal of helping new players navigate the game's various systems. Instead of the tutorials mostly being a screen takeover that point the player to various menus and aspects of the game all at once, they now take the form of a series of short goals, each one tackling a single aspect and providing a more guided experience.This culminates in the introduction to the item enhancement system, which is where the bulk of the strategy and planning takes place in the game. The new goals system will provide the player with the resources and direction to interact with item enhancement much earlier, no longer being gated behind hitting certain levels. Players can tackle the goals as slowly or as quickly as they want.UI UpdatesWe've added more controls to the game related to Marketplace items, allowing quicker removal/decompiling. Additionally some of the alternative themes have had fixes to their readability. Syndicates also now display the join dates for each member.The mobile version of the game (accessible by any mobile browser at https://www.idlehacking.com) now has full integration with the new player tutorial system, further bringing the mobile experience to parity with the full desktop client/browser experience.Item Enhancement now has more visual feedback when performing Version Upgrades, making it clear when an attempt succeeds, fails, or fails but doesn't consume stability thanks to the Snapshot Backup Homelab upgrade.

End Sequence & Save/Quit Fixes Fixed the portal after the ending - The center portal now returns to its normal size after the ending finishes. Fixed missing ZEK after the ending - ZEK should now spawn normally again when starting another run after the credits. What's New New Feature: Divinities Summon powerful Divinities by sacrificing a set of pets and their cards. The first Divinity, Zarethion, The God-Scaled, has been added. Level up Divinities using Trial Marks specific to each Trial. Example: Zarethion uses the Mark of Veyloris, which drops from enemies in the Trial of Veyloris. Divinities have a total of 9 ranks. Currently, the first 5 ranks (starting from Angel) can be upgraded. New Feature: Mausoleum Sacrificed pets are converted into Vestiges with their own levels and ranks. Vestiges multiply Relic stats based on their level and rank. Vestiges have 6 ranks and a maximum level of 1000. New Feature: Celestium Summoned Divinities enter their own Trial Towers in Celestium. Localization Fixed Chinese text sometimes rendering as boxes on first launch. Improved CJK font fallback initialization for Chinese, Japanese, and Korean. Upgrade Tree Fixed the upgrade tree camera resetting to default zoom/position after returning from a run. Tutorials Fixed the Synthetic Digestion tutorial popup appearing repeatedly in some cases. Gameplay Improved Mooch click detection so parasites should no longer feel immune to clicks when visibly hittable. Just One More Link now unlocks when claiming a valid chain within the final 0.5 seconds of a run. Unfortunate Greed now unlocks when a run ends with 0 ZEK earned after breaking a chain. Previously, both achievements had incorrect hidden trigger conditions that did not match their Steam descriptions. Thanks for the bug reports and for helping track these down.

New Shadow Skill : Shadow DecoyFor those finding the game too demanding, you can now spend Chapter Memories to deploy a Shadow Decoy that stalls enemies, giving you a little more breathing room. That said, the core design still rewards finding and executing the right path without relying on it. Honestly, that's the more satisfying way to play. 2. Shadow Scout is now easier to seeExploration is central to the game, and Shadow Scout marks actions that have follow up actions chained behind them. The icon was easy to miss, so it now also displays a Scout Line extending from the source action, making it much clearer that there's more to follow. 3. Shadow Slave now supports multi-action queuingShift + Middle Click any action and Shadow Slave will automatically queue all actions along the way.
