Fixed: Artifacts would incorrectly try to be created in layers that have no blocks, such as in the case of adjusting your Starting Layer, which would make finding the artifacts needlessly difficult. Fixed: Fireflies can now spawn in all layers. Please let me know in the Steam Discussion Boards if you continue to have situations where artifacts are very very difficult to find. Please include which layer you're starting on and which artifacts are missing. I believe the bug has been fixed, but if not, I'll need those extra details. Thank you.

EvoLife v0.9.9 is here, I updated the savefile list window to provide more info about the savefiles! The use case: You create a world, set it to fast forward, with autosave enabled. You leave it running for days, weeks, and now you have a lot of savefiles. You use the savefile list to visualize the sequence and start your evolutionary microbiology archeology journey, discovering what evolution cooked up. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/42900916/e6cf47c61ac9756b396549329abe6cab592434f4.png Toggle the savefile physics stats plot, which was the only savefile list plot available in older versions. Toggle physics stats plot legend Toggle species population count color plot. Each coulomb is a savefile, and the colored blocks represent cells alive in that color. Easy way to locate species, visualizes the evolutionary process well. Due to performance reasons not all species can be visualized, micro-species are summed together as the gray area on top. Loving how this visualization turned out, really captures evolutionary transitions across time, across savefiles. The savefile step buttons, already present in older versions. Physics stats plot now gets the number of cells that are connected to other cells (plotted as "multicellular") and the number of cells that have a flagellum (plotted as "flagellate"). Are you interested in early multicellularity? You know where to jump. Are you interested in the flagellate world and want to study their evolution? The plot pinpoints your favorite location! Selected species population count now can be plotted, with an addition of being able to plot not just the species itself but their direct ancestors and descendants. Are you interested in a specific species? Plot them and see if they survived the evolutionary arms race to the end. They went extinct? Pinpoint the time and savefile it happened and check what evolutionary advantage were they lacking! The savefile list plots take a lot of CPU processing of savefiles, so I made them multi-threaded. The plo...

Change: Increased the artifact forgiveness system from a multipler of 0.4 to 1.8. Basically, as you mine blocks, the odds of getting an artifact from that block increases. Now it increases even more.Change: Because you mine way more Misc. blocks than anything else, it has a separate multipler, which has also been increased from 0.001 -> 0.002.Change: Zinc was a problem point, so it specifically has a much higher artifact multiplier.Change: Various nodes in the Evertree have had their orb cost reduced, specifically a few Aether Orbs, almost all Mystic Orbs, and some Luminous Orbs. Please see the note below.NOTE: For the above orb changes, you may need to reset your Evertree skill tree to get the appropriate number of orbs back, as now if you refund them, you'll get less than you spent. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Update: We completed the migration to the new server on February 10, 2026. From now on, all of your online data will continue to be stored and handled on the new server.Hello everyone, this is an important announcement regarding the game’s server. If you have been using (or are currently using) the game’s online features, please read the following. At the moment, most of the games in our ecosystem no longer generate revenue, or their revenue is below the level needed to cover ongoing server maintenance. This means we have been using personal funds to keep the servers running. Due to financial difficulties, we are unable to continue paying the high maintenance costs, so we have been looking for alternative server providers with the lowest possible cost to sustain the service. Therefore:We will migrate the game’s server to a new server in the near future. This will come with a game update that will point the game to the new server instead of the current one.All online game data will be transferred to the new server. To support this, we will back up all data up to and including the time of this announcement. This means any data / progress generated after this announcement will not appear on the new server. You will be able to continue from your current progress (as of the time of this announcement) on the new server afterward.Sincerely,

Implemented a rolling save system. This means the game continously generates backups of your save system. Should Steam Cloud act up, your PC crash or your power go out - then your save file should be backed up locally. We're extremely sorry to anyone that lost their save file.Moved "Pocket Change" to the middle of the skill tree to make it more impactful and give more options at the beginning.Moved "Overtake" to the middle of the skill tree to make it more impactful and give more options at the beginning.Rotten Table now only accounts for purchased helpers and coins. I'm just now realizing how insane this sounds out of context, by the way.Fixed: Rabbit Supervisors could sometimes interact with targets as soon as they no longer exist (i.e; Ferret Exploder exploding), which would crash the game.Fixed: If you start a run and quickly return to Title Screen and back to your save file, the game would crash.Fixed: If you open menus too quickly, the data may not be fully ready in time and would crash the game.Fixed: The Special Inspector NPC would not appropriately update the Exploration tab when Cleared Layer bonuses were collected, requiring you to reopen the menu to get more turnins.Fixed: ...

The ending screen will now appear after you defeat the YinYang Boss. Regardless of whether you’ve defeated them before, the ending will now trigger every time you win the YinYang Boss fight. I’m so incredibly grateful for the support you've shown over the past week. To see so many of you spending hours in the game truly means the world to me. I’ve just added a new ending screen as a small milestone for your journey. My biggest hope is that this game can bring you a moment of relaxation and peace.

Hey, Ariano here – officially an independent game developer with a number of games in his catalog equal to ONE! I had a short night. After releasing the game, I stayed up late to fix a bug and push a patch for Steam Deck users 🐞 But I’m really happy and proud that so many of you are playing Craftlings and enjoying it. I truly appreciate all your warm comments and messages on Discord, X, and Steam! If you could do me a favor and write a review on Steam, it would really help. This way, people interested in buying the game can better understand what to expect from it—what Craftlings is and what it is not. That would be awesome! And here’s a short changelog for the small patch v1.0.3: - Bug fix: On Steam Deck, the ladder did not react to the B button - Bug fix: The ladder was sometimes skipped at 3× speed BTW, I’m curious—how does the rank system work? What are your best ranks so far? On the Discord server, I’ve prepared special roles for top-tier ranks. If you want, join us there and share your rank 💪 Happy wusseln! Ariano
