January 2026 - NEW GameMode Coming Soon!

Hi Everyone!As it's been over a month since the last update I wanted to write this to keep everyone updated with what's going on.I have been working on full Steam Deck support as well as a huge update which will add an entirely new game mode to Mushroom Clicker.Steam Deck support is all done and dusted but I'm holding off on releasing the update so I can do some more testing and I will probably end up releasing that update at the same time as the new game mode. If you want to start playing MC on the Steam Deck already you can do so by using the touch screen, but the next update will introduce controls for a controller which will be much more intuitive and easier.The new game mode"I need your help! Hi gamers,thank you for posting feedback in the community hub, I have been working hard today to fix all the issues and I think it should cover a lot of issues. If there is more stuff let me know in the hub!Stamina fix:Stamina now regenerates when idle, and a little bit faster. Also new game starts with a tiny bit of stamina.Tutorial fix:Some people may have experienced the last tutorial message being stuck. It is now fixedThere is also a slightly better tutorialAutosave:The game now autosaves every 20 minutesDeals bug and speed:After loading the game the delay between deals was a bit longer than should have been. It is now fixed.Also deals come in faster now after you've unlocked all traders.Ladder bug:Being stuck on the ladder after destroying the ladder while climbing is now fixedHiring hall & workers:Hiring hall now costs slightly less and the workers work and move a little bit faster.Slight increase of cost in final upgrades:The final axe and pickaxe upgrades cost a bit more.Inverted Y axis:The settings/controls now have an option to invert the Y axis movementNew 72 stone achievement:Added the 72 stone achievement. If you already have mined 72 stones you will have to get in a map and mine a stone. Sorry!Inventory full indicator:The inventory UI now changes to red color when your inventory is full. I mainly increased the window of opportunity when a star appears so that you have time to refocus on the game and collect them. Hey everyone! I didn’t expect this many people to play my game, let alone provide feedback. I really appreciate it. I’ll do my best to improve the game and help it reach its full potential. For now, I’m planning to focus on improving the UI, cleaning up bugs, and polishing the overall experience. I also have ideas to improve the gameplay by introducing missions and items that have more meaningful uses.AddedBuy Max option for tower upgrades.Current enemy counter is shown at the top bar.Missions are automatically completed when requirement is met.Added an option in bottom right corner of HUD to slow game speed when cursor is over any of the left panels.ChangedTree animation speeds are reduced.Gem and gold drop amounts are increased.RemovedTarget selection is removed. I'm really excited to share some new fun features with you!Disclaimer: A lot has changed in this version. If you see tracks (particularly Collectors) or props missing from a previous playthrough or things aren't lining up the way they used to, it's likely from the changes mentioned below.The biggest new feature is the introduction of Fabricators!These add a new layer of depth to the game. Previously you would just collect resources from deposits using collectors and buy new tracks. But, now some resources must be crafted in Fabricators in order to progress in the game. To use these you provide the input materials by ensuring the proper input and output storage units are attached in any order to the Fabricator.Due to the addition of Fabricators, several deposits have been removed or replaced with other resources.Train coloring and switch track logic are now released!As mentioned in the previous post, You can now change the color of your trains!While coloring them is fun, you can also use this color to determine whether a train should go in a particular direction of a switch track or not.I've decided to unlock the entire Grassy Plains scenario for the demo.Enjoy!Removed all propsOne of the features I was very hesitant to remove for a long time was props. There are many reasons why I wanted to remove them, but the primary reason is that they in no way served the core gameplay, therefore supporting and maintaining them would steal my focus away from developing the core game. I've only disabled them, so I may at some point in the future re-enable them.Lots of bug fixes!There have been lots of bug fixes and improvements. One particular bug that was driving me (and probably you) crazy was where the game would hitch slightly every few seconds. Since the game uses C# I thought it was a garbage collection issue. She’ll need a bit more time while I rewrite her AI.The new Pig house is back in the world, and I really like it.If you remember the old model, this one feels much more like a home. I can easily imagine Pig living inside, hopping around happily, with Bunnies coming over to visit and play.⸻About ArtMaking my own 3D models is slow, but important buildings need to be original.I looked through asset stores, and while those models are fine as background props, they all share familiar styles. Once a character has personality and preferences, their environment needs to reflect that.Bunny houses are square and practical—bunnies choose the safest way to build.Pig’s house is different. It’s unique. I tried many designs before settling on this one. I can imagine Pig bouncing happily inside her home.Her house, like Pig herself, is free-spirited. The curves are irregular. She loves flowering fruit trees, so her home blends into the trees. From inside, she can watch the big tree bloom.Creation means walking through every possible direction.I often don’t know what I want—only what I don’t want—until I explore enough paths and see real results. Sometimes inspiration doesn’t come at all, and all I can do is wait.3D modeling is still troublesome and requires many revisions. Sometimes broken data forces me to redo everything. But for me, it’s still easier than traditional art.When I studied art, anything that required hands-on drawing was extremely difficult for me, no matter how hard I tried. Pencil, watercolor, acrylic—there’s no Ctrl+Z. You need precise muscle control, and even colors must be mixed by hand.Later I switched to drawing on iPad with Procreate, but even then I relied heavily on undo. Simple drawings still needed many revisions.I redrew things obsessively, over and over, and still couldn’t match my classmates. WHAT'S NEW?Worked on better save file handling to prevent a bug where the 'new game' button stopped working. The game will now load from a backup saved file if the saved file has been corrupted, which can happen in power outages. Fixed Ship Tab and Cryo Tab achievements being awarded too early.Optimised saving for better performance. Fixed a bug where the captive sun would show through onto the victory panel.
