Hey everyone! Thanks to Felix, we're pushing another update for Lyca that improves things significantly under the hood: - Performance overhaul: The terrain system has been reworked into a tile-based system that drastically improves performance, especially on lower-end PCs - Controller support overhaul: The controller functionality has been completely reworked to make it much smoother and intuitive to play! - Other smaller fixes and tweaks This update brings the Steam (Windows) version up to date with the Switch version. Speaking of which,Lyca is now available on Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2)! If you're wanting to relax, run through a meadow as a dog (or cat) and listen to chill lo-fi music, you can now do it on the go! (or in your bed or couch or wherever you play your Switch). It's been a dream of mine to have my game on the Switch, so I'm really grateful to be able to achieve that today! This couldn't have happened without Felix, who handled all of the porting, and Pretty Soon, who are handling the testing and publishing. But most of all, it's thanks to all of you, the players, who have supported the game and helped get it where it is now! See you all soon, - Shaun (dev)
Just some quick fixes in response to early feedback from the Crystal Gyroscope Update.Viridi will now launch in windowed mode by default. The ESC menu has a button to toggle between windowed and fullscreen modes.Viridi will attempt to remember your selected mode and resolution and will re-launch in that mode. The bottom/main menu, spritz, and hoist buttons will now shift around as you resize the window, to keep a functional, good-looking layout. The minimum width of this menu area has been expanded to support even longer plant names. The ESC menu will now unhide UI when it opens. (There is a semi-secret function of the Z key hiding/unhiding the UI. ESC will force unhide, which I think will be easier for people when they accidentally hide the UI without knowing what's up.)The rename UI will now properly close when you click away from a plant without finishing rename. Thanks for your feedback and your patience! Let me know if anything else is busted. 🐌
Fix the "heart" screen-pinning buttons on the left hand side menu

Demo updated — you can now leave a review! Hello, everyone! We’ve updated the Backrooms: Lost Runners demo page — reviews are now enabled. Your feedback helps us prioritize fixes and improve the game. What to write about: 1–2 sentences with your overall impression: atmosphere, was it scary, how did the co-op feel. Was the game’s performance comfortable/smooth? Suggestions for improvements. How to leave a review: Open the demo’s Steam store page → click "Write a review" → share your experience. Even a few lines help a lot. Backrooms Lost Runners Demo We read every review and ship updates regularly. Thank you for supporting Backrooms: Lost Runners!
i’m honestly surprised and grateful for all the attention the game’s been gettingthere’s been a lot of bugs and feedback so i’m working on fixes as fast as i canthanks for your patience and please hang tight for the next update!
After several years, it was time to spend some time updating everything a bit. Several visual bugs have been fixed, and some texts have been modified (especially in the special mission of Level 17). The engine version (nw.js) and the libraries (Steam) have also been updated.
Our first Viridi update since 2018 😅. Hello from the future! We've updated the engine and done some selective optimizations, so the game should run a little smoother. We finally have a 64-bit OSX build! There are two new pots, "The Dansk of a Lifetime," and "Bronzino." If you don't know, you can change your current pot while keeping all the plants by using the 'Repot ___' option in the Nursery. We've added a new environment, the Elven Throne. This environment will be unlocked for free for anyone with the achievement 'The Elven Artefacts' from Tenderfoot Tactics. It's a tough one, you basically have to beat the game, heheh. You can also buy the Crystal Gyroscope in the Nursery to gain access to the Elven Throne. Other changes:The ESC key, when pressed in the pot scene, will now bring up an \ button, so you no longer have to just alt-F4 out of the game. The bat 🦇 now only has a chance to come out on Halloween (it was bothering some people).Snow has been tweaked to look a little nicer imho. ❄There is now a toggle button to disable/enable weather events (looks like a 🌧) in the primary menu, next to the music toggle. It's easier to select the snail now. You used to only be able to click the soil near them, but now you can click them direct, even if they're on the back side of your pot. 🐌Tweaked the plant name UI to better support longer names.Added credits in the Nursery. Thanks so much for all your support over the years! 🐌💕

· Significant optimization to address memory usage growth during prolonged AFK sessions. Based on tests, the game can now run continuously for 100 hours without memory explosion issues! Our programmer sacrificed half of his hair for this achievement! · Major optimization to reduce lag/stuttering at high game speeds. Tests show that at 30x speed, the game can maintain roughly 55-60 FPS on a system with a 3060 GPU and a 10th Gen i7 CPU. Our programmer sacrificed his remaining hair for this result. · These two items required considerable effort, but they significantly improve the long-term AFK experience, making it worthwhile. · Most other changes in this update are bug fixes, including issues like being unable to craft high-tier pills after using high-tier recipes. · October's focus will primarily remain on routine fixes and optimizations. We plan to start adding new content in November, and we hope it will meet your expectations then. Haha! · Comprehensively fixed the issue of continuously increasing memory usage. · Thoroughly addressed lag/stuttering issues at high game speeds. · Skill: "Rupturing Edge Sword Art" · Skill activation settings; conditions can now be enabled or disabled. · Weapon skills not being auto-enabled by default after equipping a weapon. · Mouse cursor requiring a tab-back into the game to appear. · Abnormal display of resource gain rates in the top resource bar. · Slightly optimized performance in the Merchant view. · The Rare Treasure Pavilion can now refresh all weapon types. · Abnormal issue with concocting Breakthrough Pills. · Issue where the unlocked state of queue slots in views like Manufacturing, Alchemy, Nurturing, and Deconstruction was not being saved. · Added automatic cleanup for erroneously decomposed queue items. · Improved the layout of the Work Speed list in the Land Sidebar. · Upgrading "Spiritual Expansion"; it can now upgrade Swamp tiles. · The "Flesh & Blood" effect of Swamp tiles; Swamps can now correctly gain Flesh & Blo...

Based on feedback, a dropdown menu for text size has been added to the lower-left corner of the UI. You can now right-click the tray icon to toggle the task’s visibility on the taskbar. Also added options to move the UI and bring Yuyuko to the center of the screen. Now, when Yuyuko sees you, she becomes hungry.Regarding the transparent background issue caused by certain systems: since changing fullscreen optimization requires registry edits and administrator privileges, I consider it risky, so I’ve decided not to implement a fix for this.Known Issues:The character disappears when the app is moved to a secondary monitor. (I believe the issue is actually due to incorrect position rather than true disappearance. I don’t have a secondary monitor to verify this, but I hope the “move to center” option will serve as a workaround. Awaiting feedback.)Known but Unresolved Issues:This app forces fullscreen, which may cause Wallpaper Engine wallpapers to stop playing when “pause when maximized” is enabled.Due to z-order/layering issues, some taskbar-transparency software may fail to keep the taskbar transparent.Enabling GPU acceleration causes severe lag.Transparent background fails due to fullscreen optimization. (Go to the gear icon at the top-right of Steam → Manage → Browse local files → right-click game.exe → Properties → Compatibility → check Disable fullscreen optimizations — this resolves the issue in most cases.)

Hello again — it’s me, your stone ːstone_simulator_heartːWhile the developers are preparing the co-op mode so I won’t be lonely anymore, they’ve given me something new to do — collecting memories.I’m still lying in the same place. The wind still sings through the grass, and the sun still warms my surface. But now there’s something new in the air — the scent of collections. As you play, I begin to dream ːstone_simulator_boulderːSimple dreams, like life itself: spring meadows, summer skies, autumn winds, and winter silence. Each dream is a card you can discover. Spring Vibes. Summer Vibes. Autumn Vibes. Winter Vibes. And, of course, my odd forest companion — Weirdo Friend. He appears whenever reality becomes a little too serious. And I’ve started to… grow ːstone_simulator_fingerːWell, not me exactly — my levels on Steam have. If you collect all five cards and craft them into a set, my essence grows stronger, and your collection gains a new level. Pebble, Boulder, Ancient Stone, Crystal Core, Magma Heart… And if you’re lucky, you’ll reach the final state — Eternal Monolith. Each level-up may reward you with one of three rare profile backgrounds or an emoticon — a small but living fragment of my mood. The world keeps changing, but I remain. I lie still and listen as everything around me awakens, as you gather my fragments and turn them into a story.

And it's time for some updates:🐟 added a new set of fish parts, so don't be surprised if your number of discovered fish go down noticeably.🐟 added some items that can be collected in the aquarium during active play.🐟 replaced the numeric rarity with descriptive one, as people found the numerics confusing.🐟 removed the more expensive fish eggs from the store, because the "more expensive" fish can be bred just as any other fish at this stage and people felt cheated with what they were getting for the price.🐟 overhauled the fish selling prices to make sure the more rare fish sell for more.🐟 also overhauled the breeding timers, because the initial breeding times were way too high.Hopefully the game will become more dynamic now!

Greetings Pioneers!A critical security issue has been spotted in Unity, which can enable an attacker to compromise your system, when using a game made with Unity with an insecure version. Paragon Pioneers 2 was affected as well, so I've uploaded a new version yesterday, which fixes the issue and will keep you safe again! Please ensure to update your game to be safe!If you're into more tech talk, you can read more about the issue here: https://unity.com/security/sept-2025-01Have nice day!TobiasPS: With that update a bugfix for discovery times also has gone live, which I forgot to upload back then. It fixes the time computation to be not based on ship speed, but a fixed time, making discovery reduction research much more viable (which also has been increased to compensate)
