Time for Localizations

Hi,I hope you all are having a nice summer despite the warm weather. In today's update I'd like to focus on plans. I avoided looking past Adventure mode for quite some time but version 1.1 is now relatively stable and so I can turn my gaze to the future. What comes nextBy adding adventure mode I have finished that part of my backlog labelled 'big features'. Now it finally comes to doing all the various tweaks, optimizations and improvements. For that reason, game updates will no longer be focused on one major topic but instead will contain various chunks and bits.Smaller Irregular updatesThis means a little dilemma for me. Whether to release a small update every say two months, doing all the associated testing myself, OR glue one or two such updates together, release every 3-4 months and run a two-week BETA test beforehand as was my approach until now. This is something that I will have to decide but expect that updates may be coming in different sizes and frequency than before (now that the game is moving into it's more mature stage).A little holidayBecause I have been 100% on the game for versions 1.0 AND 1.1 without a break between I decided to take the rest of summer off and spend more it with my family. I will still be doing bugfixes and normal support but won't work on any new features. I'll resume feature building from September.Updates in 4-8 weeksSame as the version updates, I think it will be more practical for me to compress our monthly Monday updates to a longer and more flexible range. I won't always have a presentable piece of the game each 4 weeks so this will give me a little more breathing room. I would still do at least one worthy update each 2 months where I can actually SHOW SOMETHING not just promise it.There is a long list of extensions and descoped ideas and I want to make sure they come in a properly designed and tested bundles instead of throwing them in randomly one by one.LocalizationOne VERY BIG feature I plan to look into next is localizat...

Post launch update (small).

Update 2.5.0 — Controller Support, a Living Soundscape & World Map Zoom\Commanders,This is a big step on the road to Steam. MEGACITY now plays end to end on a controller, your city has a voice, and the world map finally zooms. Here's everything that's new.Full controller, keyboard & Steam Deck support.Play from start to finish without a mouse. On-screen focus highlighting moves you between buttons, menus and the district grid, and a built-in controls panel lists every binding. The Steam Deck's controls work right out of the box.A city that sounds alive.A new mood-reactive soundscape shifts with the state of your city — calmer tones when things are stable, tenser layers as unrest, crime and disorder climb. It's on by default and respects your mute, volume and reduced-motion settings, so you can dial it back or switch it off any time.World map zoom.Pinch to zoom the world map and read crowded sectors with ease. Markers and their labels stay crisp and legible as you zoom in instead of overlapping, and the filter and legend bars now sit tight under the header for more map space.Steam Cloud save protection.Play on more than one machine? If the same save gets changed in two places, the game now detects the conflict and protects your progress instead of silently overwriting it.Smoother and faster. Two rounds of performance work plus an engine cleanup mean quicker startup and steadier late-game ticks.Your existing saves load as-is — nothing needs resetting.Thank you for sticking with MEGACITY while I keep building toward launch. This is my first game, and your feedback shapes what comes next. More soon.— Green Kamino *Megacity)

Update 1.0.37 - Shark Hats and Week Starts

Hi Grove Keepers! Update 1.0.37 is here with a few small but useful fixes. Clothing and hat icons in the fishing album should now display correctly again. All of them were accidentally showing up as the shark hat - which was funny, but not very helpful. We also added a new setting that lets you choose any day as the first day of the week. So if you want your week to start on Tuesday, now you can do that. Other changes: * Better shop performance * Items in shops should no longer blink every time something changes * Faster opening of Settings, Field Shop, and Woodlings windows * Fixed German translation in the Work End window * Fixed Save Note to Notepad in Zen Master Thank you for the reports and feedback!

Widget Inc. Minor update v1.5.1

Just a small update today, addressing a few minor issues that have been brought to my attention since the launch of the big update earlier this month.Added:The Keypad vault puzzle can now be completed using keyboard numeric keys (Numpad + number row)."Decode Glyphs" puzzle now has a speed up button for if the right glyphs aren't appearing for you.Fixed:City Builder parts are no longer incorrectly capped at 2.1 billion.Changed:Vaults can now be deconstructed if they're in the way and you don't want to complete the minigame. It's now more obvious when you make an error in the Glyphs vault puzzle, and a short lockout prevents you from making multiple errors in a row.Multiple Glitch Sparks can be present in the world at the same time, reducing the need to hunt for them obsessively.Time between Glitch Spark spawns still increases as you activate more of them, but the time increase has been reduced.

6.13b — Buy preview follow-up

A quick refinement to yesterday's buy-preview fix on the Company and R&D tabs. Picking ×10 or ×100 now previews the full effect of that quantity — matching the cost shown on the Buy button — instead of shrinking to what you can currently afford. Only Max reflects your current cash. So ×10 / ×100 / Max each show a distinct, accurate before → after result. Thanks to IrishGoat for the sharp follow-up.

Road to Launch #2: Bombs Showcase

Today I'm showing some new unique bombs I've worked on, such as the Banana Bomb, which is a bouncy explosive that splits into smaller bananas and so on... it's a powerful bomb, unlockable later on in the game.I've also added an enhancement to the Critical Bomb. While it does a lot of damage, it kinda lacked some uniqueness, so I made it shake the underground so much that it causes boulders to fall! Each prestige level grants a unique bomb, such as the Thunder Bomb, which releases a strong chain lightning, and the Plasma Bomb, which mimics the same behavior as the Plasma Ore (my favorite), and so many more... I believe the strongest is the prestige 5 bomb, but I'm not spoiling that yet!I've been working on the final game lately, and I'm confident I can launch this July: I'll be posting the release date in the following days! Stay tuned and keep mining.

Our 2026 Beach party bonus experience event is live!

Get your hands on some ice cream and donate it to the communal ice cream supply to increase a global experience boost for everyone in the game. Ice cream can be bought with either in-game gold or through the game shop. Additionally, you can find ice cream when opening chests and killing bosses in The Valley of Gods. As we reach predetermined ice cream milestones in the supply, the experience bonus everyone in the game receives increases. The experience bonus starts at 2% at caps out at 25%. The event ends in 14 days, after which time you'll be unable to donate any more ice cream to the supply. The supply will start draining at an accelerated rate and you'll keep receiving bonus experience until the supply is empty. Same as previous events, there's a new role available on Discord for players who end up in the Top Donors (top 30) list at the end of the event. Some pretty extreme heat waves out there this year (again). Remember to stay hydrated and apply lots of sunscreen. Enjoy the bonus experience! https://idleclans.wiki/w/Beach_party_event
